They can't fall for that! It's the oldest trick in the book.

"Persuade"? FFS! Get his arm up his back and frog march the fucker.

Don't worry I'd expect some new draconian legislation allowing them to march any person with a British passport onto a plane (whilst having a heart attack or not) within months. To protect us from terrorists..... oh sorry paedophiles.

Of course forced marriages to under-age children for religious reasons will be exempt.

How would British Law have applied in this case though?

Am I missing something?

Why the fuck do we want him to come back? I personally would hope he rotted in the Bangkok Hilton for the rest of his days.

Seen to be doing. If he weren't getting the media he is getting they probably would be quite happy with that.

I think the preference is that he's here and being monitored, rather than hopping around Asian country's diddling kids unchecked.

Which again the UK Government isn't actually too bothered about, unless they generate press like he does.

If some other country is daft enough to take him in then let him be their concern not ours, otherwise hes just going to try doing the same things here.

I can't see how that would be fair when we deport criminals and immigrants by the bucketload. He's a British citizen.

Also I think you highlight part of the problem, No other country is daft enough to take him.

Figures?

We only do that if their human rights aren't infringed.

Or potentially infringed, so I'd be interested in the "bucketload" figures..... actually would removing someone passport and rights of travel "infringe" their human rights?

Then we take him back, hes our responsibility as a british citizen I agree that, just think that we shouldnt do anything to "infringe his right" to fuck off to some other country instead (if they'll take him).
