Big Dan Burn

BDB did ok I thought, good first half, maybe a bit less convincing in the second. England went back to him a lot so I think there's confidence in the team for him being there at least. I thought he seemed a little frustrated by how ponderous the England midfield was at times and pushing up high to drive them on - England are no Newcastle...

Love him to bits but thought he had nowt to do first half except head some balls and lots of easy passes. 2nd half, each time someone had a go at him, he came off 2nd best, and these were Albanians.

I think the world’s elite would be too much for him. Lovely he’s won a cap, but I’d be suprised if he gets to the finals.

What's he said?

Said England didn't look like a team that believed they could win the last tournament, they looked more like a team that just wanted to stay in. Said they looked scared to lose rather than believing they could win.

The truth, basically.

Some chump in the Mail is slagging off Burn’s England performance. He didn’t too much wrong. Broja turned him a couple of times but he was pretty solid, didn’t give the ball away. Cleared it well. Solid debut as far as I could see and unlucky not to score from a header against the bar

153 touches for Burn v Albania apparently. About 7 times what Salah managed last Sunday.

145 of those were in the first 10 minutes. It was fucking mental how often they passed back to him. He was the only player knocking the ball forward for the first half an hour.
