No idea how true the story is, or even if it is that there will be anything improper found on Sandro's part if there is an investigation, but this would be a sickener. The guy that's already admitted to betting on games other than ones he was playing or involved in, Fagioli’s, could face up to three years suspended if found guilty.

To many it's an addiction. They experience so many highs on the pitch I would assume that betting big money is another way to get one. Some footballers play only once, at most twice a week, and are left to twiddle their thumbs the rest of the week. It's easy to see how people who's whole life is football could get bored between games and fall into bad habits/addictions. Even the high level players who at times play three times a week may get into a situation where they want that feeling all the time, or at least as much as possible.

I guess if there's betting then there's at least a question to be answered on match fixing, which would be criminal. Might be that a criminal investigation comes to nothing.

 

It also might just be that Italian law is different.

FFS. If guilty, hopefully it's whilst he was in Milan and has nothing to do with any of our games or other players. Wonder if there is a concerted  effort across football to try and clamp down on this. Seems odd that there are a few high profile cases at the same time.
