Looked absolutely sublime at times last night. Really looking forward to seeing how he does this season.

agreed. a massive boost, as was willock's performance before he got injured. absolutely gutted for willock. i really hope it's nothing serious. we need him back in the squad - another massive player for us sorely missed last season

He's missed 39 games in 12 months apparently, with 3 completely different injuries. I hope it's just a bad year and he hasn't got Wilson's body type

He's barely had an injury before these last 15 months so hopefully it's just unlucky.

Apparently he got a private plane back here straight after the Italy game so he could get back into training. Seems a tad motivated (if true).

That'll be him on Greta Thunberg's naughty list then.

He's going to be huge for the team this season, really hope he pushes on to be a club legend.

i think and hope he feels like he owes us big time. for a bloke who doesn't seem to show much emotion, he seemed genuinely moved by the supports he got from the away end when he returned for the forest game

I reckon we'd have finished top 4 with him available last season. When you think there was a good 2 month spell where we had a midfield of Bruno, Longstaff & Miley (nowt against them as they grafted their bollocks off and the other is still raw), but those games against the likes of Bournemouth, Luton & Everton home and away. We got 3 points out of 18 there alone. We were only 8 behind Villa in the end.

He wasn't exactly Pirlo today but his intelligence and that sort of swagger of "I'm as good as yous" today stood out. He's going to be massive.

Tonali kept drifting over to the RW and joining in triangles in tight spaces with Trippier and Murphy. Made a big difference in helping to keep the ball against a high press.

Got no idea why Howe has been reluctant to start him with Bruno and Joelinton. They looked class today

He's going to get better too as he plays more and proper sharpness kicks in. Man's hardly played for a year and still absolutely stands out. He could be as key for us as Bruno/Isak/Gordon in no time.

I suppose it's only early. Not as if it's been 12 games is it. But agree  he needs go start and he's class.

He's not been at peak fitness, that'll be the only reason he's been held back. He got cramp on Saturday, sort of shows he's not quite there yet.

What I was saying when he'd first joined. The triangles that were created between Almiron, Trippier and Bruno were so vital when we were playing well. Tonali was bought to have that available on both sides.

What's the SP with him?

He can play 90 mins for Italy, yet he hasn't played 90 minutes for us yet this season.

Howe's on a spice rattle at about 60 minutes whenever he's not started Longstaff, I think that's definitely what it is.

I think there is a massive disparity between playing 90 minutes at International level as there is to playing 90 minutes at Premier League Level. Styles of play are vastly different and demand different levels from the body.
