Truly atrocious call. What's the point of VAR? To overturn the ref's on-field decision in cases of clear and obvious error, which that never was. Very, very poor. I can only hope that serves as a wake-up call because we've been as bad as that penalty award was.

Given that's the fundamental purpose of VAR it's ludicrous how often it's not employed in that capacity. They should do away with the pointless posturing of sending the onfield ref over to the monitor. Once they've been sent to look at it they've been told that their onfield decision was deemed to be wrong by someone in a studio with multiple angles to work with, so why not just overturn it and save wasting even more time.

I’d be tempted to go 4-4-2 tbh and throw Wilson on for whoever

Was just thinking the same. Howe was saying there would be a time for this in his press conference the other day. Can't think of a better one.

Aye abysmal commentary team. They just keep acknowledging each other

" that's a good ball"

"it is, it is a good ball"

That’s how it operated in the first season in the PL then someone reminded the PL that the on field ref has to make the final decision so has to go and look at it.

Spurs dropping points currently. Win today and our game in hand and we have an 8pt cushion above Spurs

Win today looking next to impossible with the way we've been playing.

It's pointless and a waste of time.

3 minutes added after a 5 minute VAR check btw

Two penalties, VAR checks for the pen and offside goal, head injury to Isak, their captain lying on the ground for about four minutes before going off? Aye, 3 minutes sounds exactly right.

2 shots, 0 on target. Turbo-shite. Anderson for Longstaff? We need to sit a bit deeper and more importantly not be shit.

Might be a blessing if he'd played the 6/7 mins we'd probably be losing 2-0

Good changes. Harsh on Longstaff. He wasn't having a bad game. But really needed something different. A draw today will be a wonderful result all things considered.

Burn looked in so much space and then soo leggy, but miles off anyway. He's getting way too far forward, they know it and are encouraging him to do so which is why we look so bare when they counter.
