You do realise that, that means the opposite of what you think it means.

Fair point, but gladiator was set in 180 AD and it didn't mean that then.

Anyways, it's great to have you aboard the Gordon train.

Reach for the negatives

If this is all about a pay increase then my estimation of him has gone down even further.

When it’s coming up to pay reviews I’m normally on top of my game not sulking and bringing the company down. I suppose it worked though but if I was his boss then I’d move him on. Shit attitude and not the first time he is showed it since got here.

:lol:no offence, but that's the sort of patter where if you turn up to the match and the bloke in front of you is saying it, you're scanning for empty seats elsewhere.

"You know yourself this isn't how things work in the REAL WORLD. Do you think you'd get a pay rise if you walked around with a face like a smacked arse at your job?................... I'm asking you a question, Billy."

"*Billy reluctantly indulging him* Errr probably not no."

"EXACTLY! It stinks!"

Where fore art though, empty seat?! Fuck off Billy, that one's mine!

You know I'm right though. Your situation and Gordon's aren't remotely comparable.

Even if we agree this is about pay (we don't know that it is), the much more realistic scenario is that he's been in contract discussions for a while with the club. He's supposedly been on 60k a week, which if true is absolutely a piss take.

He goes away to the Euros and mixes it with lads that are all openly talking about their 6 figure a week salaries etc. He's not getting a game and he's fucking steaming about that and the fact that Newcastle keep coming back with 75k (or whatever) as their new contract offer. After the shift he just put in for us last season.

Then the Liverpool story comes up and that doesn't happen, and STILL we're taking the piss in the contract talks.

Given that (completely fabricated) context, I think he would have a right to feel that he's having the piss taken out of him a bit.

I made all of that up and it was still a more reasonable effort than "I don't do this at MY job!"

Now me and Billy have found two seats together, so if you'll please excuse us....

Well, yes we are speculating why he visibly isn’t putting the effort in. Whatever it is his attitude has been honking this season. You can tend to forgive people like Robert and Ginola who just don’t have it in them to naturally do the dirty work for the team. Gordon clearly did it last season which is why we know he is capable.

This is my frustration with him.

I agree his attitude has been lifting. I do think he has reason to be put out if we've been taking the piss in contract negotiations though. And he came with this sort of behaviour in his locker - we know he all but went on strike towards the end at Everton.

He quite literally did. He refused to train with them

So what you are saying is your professionalism can be seen as  “shit! Pay reviews coming up, I’d better do my job properly for a spell"

As a player I really rate him. He has lots of ability and potential to get even better, although I don’t agree he is a blue chip player at the moment.

i just take issue with players that don’t give 100%. Regardless if he is not happy with his contract or a move was blocked etc you can still try your hardest in a game.

Has he not just had a kid? If that is the case, could this not more be a factor? Didn't Bruno go off the boil for a while after he had his first kid? Wasn't someone on here fuming that he wasn't doing well but brining his kid on for laps of the pitch?

Are you mental? Of course it's nothing to do with that and 100% because he's a chook who's just stinking attitude because because well just because.

The fucker pretty much last season dragged us along but let's forget that. Let's forget that he's had two summers of no rest and traveling and playing tournament football. Let's forget that others are absolutely honking at the moment too and showing similar body language. Nah man, this chook is a cunt.
