GrahamTaylor5 1075
It some respects, it is good to reflect on Gordon and how he is playing. It is also good to compare him to people in the past and ASM is the natural choice as he was replaced. Gordon was an odd signing for me, I wasn't keen. He didn't seem to stand out as a great player for me. If anything, I thought he was a cheat who just like to dive. Like ASM, he seems to be really keen to engage with the fans. They both seem to be keen to share some of their wealth. I remember being impressed with a video of him supporting a food bank in Liverpool. It seemed like a genuine support rather than a PR stunt (he knew what to buy for a start). He seems like a human. If we are going to compare him on his performances to past players, as well, then he also stacks up well. There could be an argument that he has had his purple patch and this is his level. I doubt it. However, if it is his level, unlike Miggy, he still offers a lot in every game and clearly makes a positive difference in each match.

ohhh_yeah 2991
“It’s all a bit… Just leave me to play football! I just want to be happy (and) play football. I love being here, I’ve said it plenty of times. With the speculation, people assume that it’s all correct when you’ve not heard from me once that I’m unhappy at this place. I love everyone here, I love playing football here. That was all that was. It has (frustrated me). It has taken me away from enjoying my football. That’s where the inconsistency has come from because I’ve got caught in (the speculation) a little bit. I just want to play football, especially for Newcastle. We’re only human, I’m only 23. All I’ve heard is, ‘When is he leaving?’. Who said I was ever going to leave? I’m very, very happy here. I love playing football here. Alex and Bruno probably think the same thing. We’re all young and we’re all human beings, so if people talk about that and it questions our character, it’s hard.”

It was fantastic to see Anthony Gordon being presented with the NUDSA Player of the Year award for 2023/24 – and what an absolute legend he is! Such a great bloke, taking the time to chat with everyone and making the night extra special for all of us.It's always inspiring to be part of this community." #NUFC #NUDSA #ToonArmy #FootballForAll #AnthonyGordon #PlayerOfTheYear

Dr Gloom 22405 Posted Saturday at 20:01 Share Posted Saturday at 20:01 He’s on course to hit the same impressive goal contributions as last season. He’s already almost equalled ASM’s best ever season for us for goals/assists (5 goals, 5 assists) at the half way stage of this season.

His discipline has come on a lot too, only the one yellow this season compared to last season

Goals this season against Villa, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Bournemouth. All teams competing for Europe.... Following on from last seasons goals in big games.. Did he turn you down on a night out once? Don't understand the hostility. 4
