No way do we get that for him. Not from anyone. And he'd probably go on strike if that was the asking price.

you think he's going to go on strike to play for a team we just beat comfortably on a single point more than us in the league? fair play to him if he want to go to real or barca but i'd be annoyed if he went to anyone else in the league other than man city. i think the saudis would too and i don't think they would sanction it.

we haven't seen the saudis sell a big player yet. we've barely sold anyone of note tbh. it'll be interesting to see if the PSR rules do what they're designed to do, and prevent is from competing or if the saudis have other ideas. they've played very nice so far. will that continue when there is uncertainty around the future for the APT rules, or will they sttart to test the water?

You're absolutely kidding yourself if you don't think Arsenal are years ahead of us in terms of progression. We've beat them a few times recently, but it wasn't us that took the title race to the last day of the season last year, was it?

We haven't really been put to the test with a big offer. We tried to sell Gordon in the summer though.

They are ahead of us as things stand but only because of the rules put in place to slow our progress which are currently under scrutiny. Let’s see if Isak plays the long game, or not. If I were him and started to agitate for a move I would want to go to a club with a genuine chance of winning big titles. I’m not convinced Arsenal are that club. In the 2000s, I would agree. Yes, they came close in two recent seasons but they already look to be spluttering.

true. If Man City or Real came calling I think Isak’s head would be turned and I wouldn’t stand in his way. I don’t see us selling him to arsenal unless they pay silly money

They do have form on paying silly money though.

Aye, realistically the current crop of stars is almost certainly going to have to go elsewhere for regular trophies.

Maybe we can tell the next lot we'll be competing for the league in 5 years time.

I dunno. I think we've got a chance this season and certainly next.

Good chance of getting to the semi final where we'll likely meet Arsenal, Liverpool or Man Utd. Two of those will have their eyes firmly on winning the PL, or challenging for it. Man Utd under Amorim could be another in an increasingly long list of men who fall short.

FA Cup is another chance of trophy success.

New contract signed, reportedly worth around £170,000 a week.

8 and a half £M a year for a headless bastard who runs pointlessly around a football pitch and causes rips to the fabrics of the life of some fuckwit who pretends to support Newcastle United.

Nice

One of the so called accountants might to have to put me right here but surely it will hurt our ability to buy players if we have a massive wage bill ?

The wage bill has to get bigger if we want to compete. Of course it impacts your profit, so it impacts your PSR, but we should see this as a positive sign that we're growing and have grown our income to the point where we can start to compete on wages with the big lads.
