I think there’s little doubt that we’re looking at a world class footballer quite possibly at his peak. And he’s ours. Whether he leaves in the medium term isn’t that important tbh, the sums likely involved mean it’s inevitable iyam but the point is Eddie Howe & his team have helped make Alexander into a world class player at Newcastle United :)

Watched a compilation of all of his goals the other day.

What struck me is that despite doing everything very quickly he never seems to be in a rush. His movement is never frantic or uncalculated, it seems so easy for him its incredible.

Let’s be honest, the best goal he’s scored, he didn’t score- it was the “assist” for Murphy against the Scouse mackems.

Having said that, what strikes me is how many fucking rockets he unleashes with seemingly no backlift- all the power of a Supermac strike, and he’s only moving his leg from the knee down.

Bloke’s fucking unreal tbh.

Edit; it’s been mentioned before on here, but he’s also so laid back when he’s doing all this- barely breaks a sweat.

He’s also incredibly patient for a forward, I don’t really recall him showing any kind of frustration, like he knows he’ll get a chance, and when he does, he’ll bury it.

That video will eventually lead you to this, Newcastle goals start from around the 12th minute:

Worth watching the whole thing tbh.

The fourth one in, it’s like Gazza’s against Hendry in Euro 96, but better.

I've seen him have a go at Murphy for not releasing the ball earlier at times   I think he did it once in the final too. But aye you can say that's communication and not really frustration. The man's got ice in his veins.

I wonder what advice opposition coaches have for their center backs before the game, there's barely any weaknesses to his game, just look at the variety of goals in that video.

"Ermm........................pray?"

This is what I can’t comprehend about him, he’s skinny as a Somalian (sorry KD, Eritrean) but generates such power with so little back lift. Imagine what a beast he’d be if we got him on the steak bake diet.

I’ve been laughing a bit about the rumours linking him away again. I think it’s high time that these lads in the press and the media realise that the tide is very much shifting away from “United” and their ilk who think they have unlimited pulling power from the rest of the plebs in the league. Isak is at a club which, to be perfectly honest, has done more to reach their ambitions in the last 2 seasons than the “big six” have done in 5-10 years. You can probably exclude Liverpool since they’ve been successful but that team is also at the end of its run and now the manager has a massive rebuilding job on his hands.

Isak plays for a club that is positioned to bring in players around him in the summer, has a manager that absolutely gets the best of out him, plays to everyone’s strengths and he’s just lifted a pot. Come May, he could be back playing Champions League football next season. Unless he wants to drastically increase his pay packet, he’s going nowhere IMO. And having said that, I reckon we could probably stretch to give him an obscene wage as well tbh.

I’ve accepted he’ll be away, just really hope we get another year out of him.

Bottom line is money talks.

If he goes, I think it would be to Real or PSG. I don't think we'd sell to another PL club with 3 years left on his contract

The reports are that he turned down our first offer of a new contract, though as ever these are just reports rather than anyone seemingly stating fact. We've subsequently shelved it again, perhaps waiting to see where we finish in order to determine what can be offered based on how high we finish.

I don't think that's necessarily any great cause for concern, but we'll see I guess.

We're gonna have to offer him serious money for him to sign another contract. He knows if he goes elsewhere he'll be able to demand multiples of what he's currently getting.

As it stands, he's contracted to 2028, so you'd think we don't really HAVE to tie him down, but if he doesn't sign it's because he's got one eye on the exit door and getting paid a lot more for his services.

We'll see. Time for the Saudis to get real about what he's worth to us if the Chairman is adamant we don't lose him.
