Alex 36045
Dougle describing a completely factual, practically unarguable post as one of the biggest fallacies in football raised a chuckle on a bit of a shitty day

The chaos in the summer showed we're not as well run as we thought and a lot of the decision making does seem to be very slow. To be fair, Eales and Ashworth's departures came kind of out of the blue.
Rayvin 5636
I may be in a minority in this but I remain a bit gutted about Ashworth. He may be a cunt but he's clearly a very talented one who has brought in some great players for us in the short time he was here. Real loss that one. ewerk 31947
How many successful signings were down to Ashworth? He himself admitted that recruitment wasn’t his specific field.

Yet Man U sacked him after a couple of months and lost a few million on him. Strange isn't it?

I've put that down to Man Utd being a trainwreck of a club more than him. Like I'm not defending him at all, the guy is every bit the snake people are claiming... just thought he actually did pretty well at the same time. Which is a shame. 9 minutes ago, ewerk said: How many successful signings were down to Ashworth? He himself admitted that recruitment wasn’t his specific field. Unless of course this is true, which would make me feel more confident. But then who is behind it?

Yeah those the club can't be blamed for, I was thinking more about the sudden Staveley departure and the PSR sales plus the touting of Gordon. While all that might have been necessary/inevitable it felt very rushed and out of the blue.

This is true, felt like someone at the club woke up and thought "fuck me, we're not compliant" 2 days before the deadline.

If the rumours are to be believed it might have been Howe, who was acting as a traditional manager/dof with assistance from Amanda during the transfer windows before Ashworth arrived. And Howe’s reluctance to cede power promoted Ashworth’s departure and the management restructuring we saw last summer which saw Mitchell come in and Howe uttering rare public words of consternation. He’s usually the diplomat
