Other Games 22/23

Aye he can't string 3 games together and his injuries tend to be soft tissue which won't be easy for any buyers to fix. They'd certainly have no guarantee of being able to. Another Woodgate .

Lifted this from a fellow City fan. A different perspective on relative value of players over the years. Basically expressing the cost of a player as a percentage on the league income. Obvious flaws but still interesting

Seems to be a focus on the biggest transfer, but the quantity of big signings you've made and the wages you've paid has undeniably accelerated your rise in a way that shook the established top clubs to the core.

There is definitely an effort to stymie the progress of clubs not already in the accepted elite, and I don't doubt that other teams have conducted business in less than honourable ways, but I do think that Man City have used similar dark arts to get the players they want. It's hypocrisy from the likes of Real Madrid and Man Utd to criticise after they've been the beneficiaries of the nautghtiness, but I guess you ( and we) will have to be held to a higher standard.

Pope dropped; Pickford retained

Unless Pope is looking at treatment for something in pre season that makes no sense.

Nice to see Maguire and Henderson haven't been put out to pasture yet

Fair play, Kalvin Phillips deserves his call up to the national side after getting his first league start of the season just last week.

And hats off to Harry Maguire for starting TWO league matches in the last three months.

Pope is having an operation on his hand which is why he wasn't picked. Dubravka will be in nets against Chelsea.

After this match Pickford is booked in to the Cardio-Thoracic ward for an operation on his hand, too. …

I'd argue Willock over Longstaff as he overall more to his game and has been excellent this season. Fact Gallagher got selected over him tell you all you need to know about Southgate. Zero merit, creativity or cojones. A shame for England as with a decent manager this squad could have a real go, with him you'd need a massive strock of luck or the other teams to implode.
