Other Games 22/23

Recommended Posts

So Alan Smith does sky's main super Sunday game I see but Neville does the earlier game which sky usually ignore which happens to be Man U? Don Goodman does two Saturday night games recently involving us v Palace and Bournemouth yet yesterday v Liverpool, surprise, surprise it's Carragher. So basically sky are telling us that two of the PL clubs have their own designated ex-players for commentating on and that's perfectly ok? Aye, no bother sky you fucking cunts. :good:

Anyone else particularly pissed off that man Utd seem to have discovered a natural finished in Rashford? The kid can't miss at the moment. He's dug them out so many times this season.

I am still convinced that Man City trolled Man United into taking on Ronaldo, to ensure that they imploded.

Unfortunately, the good manager they took on realised that and got rid of the aging superstar and replaced him with someone better who was already there.

He started similar last season before Ronaldo joined them and then he was pushed out.  Kids got talent and is on fire at the moment.

If I was him I would be shouting about how hes banging in goals whilst sorting out kids meals etc.  So he is not only doing HIS day job he's doing CUNTS day jobs too.

Rashford is a good striker, but this is definitely a purple patch, rather than his norm. Ward was at fault for both his goals, if you ask me.

The midfield works hard to press but is one dimensional without him. The failure to replace Shelvey came back to haunt us for this three games. I wonder how we’d have fared if we’d got Jorginho or Neves in

I also think the slight disruptions due to injuries have unsettled the side as well. Isak coming back into a team without Bruno has meant he hasn't had the chances that he would have and thus hasn't settled well. Willock being injured, Wilson being injured, these all slightly impact the course of games and the course of preparation for games.

I think Gordon's transfer is more like the Wood transfer than what the team 'needed' then and there. It harmed a side, he's a good player and was available at the time for a price we were willing to pay. If I were in charge of transfers I would probably have found a replacement for Shelvey; a younger deep lying playmaker. But I would certainly have ended up paying over the odds for him and wouldn't have got the first choice target in that position. Both of those factors could have longer term impact on the progress of a team.

Everything this season has to come with the caveat that we're currently way ahead of schedule, CL challenging, League Cup finalists, in the first full season after the takeover? An objective, business head would have the next 3 years in mind, the next 5, or 10. We, as fans want it all, now.

yeah. they're probably doing it the right way. not rushing or panicking. it's a slow build and they have a plan and a process in place. it's just frustrating because we're so far ahead of schedule and this season felt like such an opportunity.

Under Ashley I would have been apoplectic because I'd have no faith in NUFC sorting it out in the Summer window. Now I kind of expect another few signings as successful as Botman, Bruno, Burn  Pope, Trippier.

All of the shirt deals, commercial partnerships, that will come after the season ends will juice our capacity for expenditure I don't doubt we'll be able to build on this season's platform.

I was going to say that it wasn't like his finishes were spectacular here, had acres of space and put them on target. Good finishes but on any other day at least one probably gets saved. When you're in form they have a way of finding their way in.

We'll have a tried and tested proven entity in goals *checks notes* Lorus Karius. Tried and tested by his extremely fine wife at least, one would hope.

Exactly this.  If the fans can see progress even small progress it's a massive thing with what we are used to under Ashley.  In terms of playing personnel it will be slow in certain area's due to Ashley massive contract policy the daft cunt.  I.e Lewis!
