Blur evolved across the decades. Park life and great escape were cheesy albums but those that preceded and followed it weren’t.  Alburn is a much better songwriter than Gallagher, who wrote two brilliant albums then a bunch of poor imitations which all sounded exactly the same.

You need some Taylor Parkes in your life…

Albarn was also the co-creator of the Gorillaz who were fucking mint.

Lloyd Kelly gets a start for Juve in CL playoff tonight. Oof.

After the full-time whistle, Italian outlet CalcioMercato gave Kelly a disappointing 4.5 rating out of 10.

They added: “Very complicated first half, second half started with courage until Perisic hits him in fear of making a mistake. Basic dribbling, offload to the near post. Him? He just watches.”

Kelly’s 4.5 rating was the lowest given to any Juventus player.

Yeah, agree wholeheartedly with SpongeBob on the quality of that piece. It actually encapsulates a lot of how I even felt at the time. And I feel qualified to comment as I was actually young and very into music and various scenes back then. Not exclusively related to MDMA consumption. He nails it with ‘Britpop’ in general, with so many of the bands not floating my boat at all. I think I mentioned on here previously about me and a group of mates pudding ourselves laughing at a contemporary news report about the battle for the number one spot between Blur and Oasis. As we were a group of young lads for whom it meant absolutely nothing. The mentioned death of Diana provoked something similar. Not laughter but just a bemusement at how everybody was forced to care so much. Why? I honestly barely gave a fuck and most people my age I knew weren’t arsed beyond a morbid fascination. As to the main topic of Blur - they were alright. I quite liked Damon. But they only did a handful or so of good songs. The albums were generally shite, man. And I gave them a go on the basis of the songs I did like. Them and the rest of Brit pop isn’t my idea of what was good about the 90s. With a few exceptions

Gordon, Botman, and Burn have all had scans and no major issues.

Trigger warning for aimaad22: please note this is a Craig Hope article. Proceed with caution.

His tweet went "MAJOR injury update" before linking an article saying all was well.

It could only have been him.

The best Blur album was the latest one. It’s the only one I’ve ever actually listened to front to back and thought was actually accomplished

With the benefit of hindsight I think  the LAs and The Stone Roses were the best of the Britpop. And they only made one great album each (the Las only made one album in total). Maybe Oasis in third place as I thought Definitely Maybe was a great record, but I pretty much hated everything they did afterwards. Probably because of Wonderwall and them being massive cunts.

Supergrass were great and didn’t make a bad album.

I hate Britpop but like everything Supergrass have done, even Gazza's solo stuff is great. Suppose I never thought of them as Britpop, where they really?

I suppose it's a combination of timing, opportunism and (perceived) musical influences. So they were more Britpop than the Manics or Therapy? but definitely less Britpop than Menswear. :D

Wasn't 'britpop' just a load of made up shite like the 'big six', 'theatre of dreams' and the 'stadium of light'?

Yeah. I think so. Basically lazy, London-centric journalism. Did Pulp really have anything in common with Oasis? For example.

A bit like the same lazy London centric journalists went on about the 'toon army' like they'd just discovered the secret, magic password, I'm still suspicious to this day about any NUFC fan that calls us that seriously, it was just 'how'd the toon get on?' and that sort of stuff. 'toon army' another 90s invention like there being a different version of howay/haway if you're Geordie or mackem. Total fabrication.
