Aye. Would only make it the 6th biggest ground in the league, and the 8000 extra seats would probably take 100 years to pay off the initial outlay. Time to prepare ourselves for the announcement that we are moving.

They aren’t bothered about paying it off though. It’s about increasing income, which does count for PSR against redevelopment costs (which don’t count). I  do agree a brand new stadium right next to the current SJP makes more sense if it’s viable though

The obvious comparison is Man City, I’ve been in Manchester for 10 years now and I’ve seen the redevelopment around the area. I’ve been in the home and away end at their new stadium. Ultimately, they have thrown hundreds of millions at it, it’s impressive facilities but it’s a dump. It’s at the arse end of “new Islington” (where I had a flat) which before the stadium had been a horror show unless you were going to sankeys for a couple of pills.

I remember going to the city of manchester stadium for the first time just after the commonwealth games, they still had giant tarpaulins advertising the games draped over the derelict flats, which had the dual purpose of covering up the fact that eastlands had the dubious honour of making moss side and the area immediately outside of maine road look fucking salubrious! still had to run the gauntlet of walking past the locals hanging about outside the mary dees though.

still,  preferred the above to the absolute soulless monstrosity I went to last season mind.

Infrastructure costs are not included in FFP/PSR, match day revenue is. So its an outlay for PIF that won't return them any cash in the short term (though it would increase the clubs resale value) but would translate into spendable money for the club within the current regulations which means we get better, we get bigger, we get in the CL more, they can entertain their fancy pals at their state of the art PL ground on european nights and they can continue to launder their reputations.

If that's the case we need to go all Chelsea and hire a few playing consultants, like maybe Lautaro Martinez, Florian Wirtz and Rodrygo to help with our RW problem, just to ensure that the infrastructure is fit for purpose!

Yep, and given they don't own SJP anyway, a new stadium fully owned by the club may be the way they'll go.

It's all capital investment, it'll be looked at to be recouped on sale (if they ever sell).

Be a good job to know what's going on at the club, you'd get to find everything out.

I'd leak every thing on here though.

I'm gutted for him. It's horrendous and stuff like that can't be unsaid. He just now has to live with the fact that he knows a certain portion of the fan base think that about him, and will say it if he has a bad game.

Fucking horrible. Not really something you can really even understand if that's not a thing you live with.

Maybe but it was overwhelmingly likely to be an NUFC fan.

If you just like going online and abusing successful black lads, you don't need to pick the one that just missed a sitter for NUFC.

From what I saw of what was said (screenshots on reddit) it read to me like the guy had been following Willock's career beyond just NUFC. Makes mention to how he's caused problems wherever he's gone, i.e. awareness of Willock's career beyond us. So that at least would suggest it's a more focused hater than just a random, or even possibly just an NUFC fan - also suggests it isn't an international fan though. Either way, it's incredibly depressing.
