But in the age of PSR we can stick a price tag on them that dissuades suitors. Like Bruno, Yes, we could realistically sell him for c£80m if we wanted to (or he wanted to go). But if Man Utd came in with a bid like that now we could, with all legitimacy, say "Give us £140m or fuck off" to end the speculation. 

 

We can make a case that selling a happy Bruno is only worthwhile if the money is ridiculous. 

 

Unless you're saying that Isak's actual value is £150m?

the only way we let any of them leave for less than £100m is if a player agitates for a move. but there seems such a togetherness in this group and as long as we're competing for honours and top four why would they leave? we can price them out of a move, unless a real madrid come calling, in which case you probably do let the player go. i sincerely don't think losing isak to arsenal is a big risk. if he's going to go, it'll surely be to a club much further ahead than us, not one we have the beating of. these players must feel that we're not a million miles away from overtaking arsenal. it's in the post

I think they only push to go if Man City, Bayern, Real or PSG are willing spunk an insane wedge on them. I don't think they'd push to move anywhere else in our (and everyone elses) current position. Moving to the rest of the big 6 (including Liverpool) isn't a guarantee of success it once was - Plus if it's money motivated then they are all fucking off to Saudi anyways because no one can compete with them on wages.

I think it can be reasonably argued that Isak's value is £150m. I don't think you could argue that Bruno and Gordon are worth more than 100. They might not even be worth 100.

 

So you can't just demand outrageous amounts for them because the player will just go on strike if they want to leave. Nothing to say Isak wouldn't do the same if we held out for 150 but I genuinely don't think we'd be taking the piss if we said we wanted that money for him. We would with Bruno or Gordon if we just put non PSR friendly price tags on them.

 

It would affect our dealings with other clubs too when we were looking to bring players in.

The most in form striker in the league, and possibly in Europe (which by extension means the world if we're honest), 25 years old so another 8-10 years of top level footy ahead of him, can cover the wings and still score.

 

Mbappe got 125m euro signing on fee (which I presume was the fee Madrid were willing to spend on the transfer near enough) and is in similar form to Isak and is a year older. I don't think £150m is unrealistic to be honest.
