we'd struggle to get him for less than £70m now after the last few seasons he's had. i think that ship has sailed. i suspect mitchell will identify cheaper options from overseas instead. same goes for guehi

And younger, young is good (in a non Gary Glitter way)

All I have seemed to read the past week is that we have the best midfield in the PL. The best all around striker. A left winger that would get into any PL team. The England full back pairing for the next decade.

So it just seems we need to improve CB, RW and GK then we are title contenders!?!? correct?

In terms of starting XI it'd match anything else in the league I reckon.

Work? I was 10 and had just had the cunt’s name printed on my shirt. I couldn’t wear the shirt again as a result and my mam was livid. Fucking work.

First teams don't win titles, squads do. And we're a long way off having a title winning squad.

title-winning sides also have depth at CF, which we lack.

but yeah, i don't think we're too many signings away from having a squad capable competing at the every top. we've got the right manager in place. four more signings that can go into the first team and why not?

the two things that would slow that from happening are failing to qualify for top four again and psr, which would force us to sell to buy.

No clubs breached PSR for 23-24 apparently. More like the Premier League knew that it would not be worthwhile pursuing anyone, so the loophole paper transfers that benefit PSR bottom lines are all good and even breaches are OK if you're ok with the arduous and costly process of arbitration. Hopefully this is an indication of a move away from this misguided attempt to monopolise the control of the incumbent big clubs.

The Premier League has not charged any clubs for breaches of its financial rules after all were deemed financially compliant for the 2023-24 season.

Most top-flight clubs had to submit their accounts for the 2023-24 season by 31 December and the Premier League is satisfied all 20 members have remained within its profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Under PSR, clubs cannot post losses of more than £105m over a three-year period.

It had been reported Leicester City were one of a number of clubs close to breaching the Premier League's margins for allowed losses.

The Foxes avoided a points deduction after they won an appeal against a charge in September, which covered the three years up until the end of the 2022-23 season.

An independent panel found the Premier League did not have the jurisdiction to punish the Foxes as the club had been relegated to the EFL Championship when their accounting period ended on 30 June 2023.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, Leicester and the Premier League said the matter remains "the subject of confidential arbitration proceedings".

Ah I hate stuff like this.

I remember the 98 Cup Final for example, a massive fuss being made about it being 24 years since the last FA Cup Final. McDonald, Hibbert, Moncur, etc seemed like ancient history when you think we had Shearer, Lee, Howey, etc.

Those 74 & 98 Cup Finals are closer to each other, than we are to those 98/99 Finals.

Happy Friday, everyone.

Don't mention 74 ffs. Me and my mate spent the late evening on his house phone ringing up and abusing every Keegan in the phone book, we obviously got a few of the cunts up out of bed given the length of time it took them to answer, which was nice.

As an added bonus this jolly jape did lead us to discover the best name in the history of telephone directories - Cmdr (ret'd) W. E. Kit-Kat. (Once seen never forgotten) - we were tempted but didn't call him as we were focused on Keegans (Highways were rare but we got a few).
