toonotl 3438
ManU have snookered themselves. You can't publicly label someone the "best" and "only" person for a role, publicly insult the holder of his contract, then expect to come to the negotiating table and make demands. To acquire "the best" requires a uniquely large price tag to match. They've told all their friends in the media that they had to have him. That guarantees that they can't walk away from the deal! What did they expect we would do?! This is a masterclass in incompetence. And their supporters have this insane notion that these new co-owners were going to change everything for them. Although, I will grant that overpaying for a useless suit is certainly a change from overpaying for useless players.

Some are also operating under the delusion that it's 'small time' of us to demand a fee and keep him to his contractually obligated gardening leave. Tell me, what's more small time; Treating this as any business in the world would and seeking compensation and keeping an employee to the terms of his contract ro, Rolling over because a big boy wants your stuff?

NJS 4568
Sissoko was a good deal as well. I still think it's a shame Carroll failed but then again it was those cunts so good.

Prime (NUFC) Sissoko in a Howe midfield would be an interesting player though as he was a fucking beast of an athlete. Him and Joelinton either side of Bruno could have caused carnage.

Only if the ball ricocheted toward Bruno everytime Sissoko tried to control it. Yes he was imposing but the fucker had the touch of Trump in a changing room.
Dazzler 11853
Quote "We know we are patient and we were persistent, but there needed to be dramatic change, because the club had been run in a very different format and we had very few commercial revenues. "We had a team that was ageing, a coach that basically didn’t even want to come to work, a fanbase that was very angry and we had to take this incredible club and inject it with some life. "We have incredible partners and they work incredibly hard to make sure that we are all very focused on the business plan. You have to be. "You have to make sure you make sensible decisions in terms of the transfer window, keep to your FFP constraints and try to do things that innovate and push outside the box, because that’s the only way we’re going to engage our fanbase and grow the club. "We have an incredible coach. We have an incredible team. Bringing Eddie (Howe) in and an executive team was really important. "Obviously you know, everyone is very much involved in the day to day running of the club. It’s difficult - it's a very competitive market in terms of players and rules around that, so you have to be very focused.” Staveley commenting on cabbage heed

I wouldn't label Ashworth a useless suit, but their actions reek of a complete and utter lack of self awareness combined with delusions of their own grandeur. They got what they deserved and it's very likely that in doing so they've provided us with the unforeseen revenue stream that will soften the blow of not qualifying for the champions league. They can somehow afford to continually spunk big money despite them being quite likely to also miss out on the big show next season.
