And at RW we have 1 specialised player: Murphy.

Murphy is technically a LW in a Howe system since he's right footed but wingers are wingers IMO. We have three plus Osula currently fit.

At CB we have three 30+ year olds one of whom is coming back from a career threatening injury and another who is deteriorating in quality game on game. Our other back up is a RB and our best CB is just came back from a career threatening injury, only to break down again a few games later.

We're significantly worse at CB than we are on the wings, even without a left footed player on the right - even when we have all players available.

All that being said taking Isak and Gordon out of the team we're fucking dreadful so it really doesn't matter who plays where

He'd sprain his wrist doing this celebration now and miss 4 games.

At the start of the season we didn't have depth and quality in that position at all with two out with long term injury.  We didn't have a clue what condition Botman would come back in either.  We know Howe likes to bed his players in before starting them so Kelly wasn't really classed as depth was he? He played ONE 90 minute game for us yet you think Murphy, a fucking bairn can be included in that conversation about DEPTH and QUALITY?

We are all in agreement we need both area's upgrading, but the more crucial position if we were only going to strengthen one area in summer IMO was CB.  But not only in my opinion but also

It’s a pointless argument either way. Both positions needed to be strengthened. Only CB was strengthened in the summer. Our pitiful RW options were weakened even further in january when we sold Miggy.

RW remains the solitary area of the squad that hasn’t been improved since the takeover.

I wasn’t happy going into the season with Miggy and Murphy as our two RW options. I assumed Gordon or Barnes would fill the void. Neither have been willing or able to do so. So we’re going into a cup final depending on Jacob Murphy, one of the squad’s longest serving players, providing the quality we need from that position. Good luck with that, everyone

it's swansea city i feel sorry for in all of this, their 12 year old record of holding the biggest league cup final winning margin looks to be in grave danger.

Murphy really struggles on the left and Gordon and Barnes really struggle on the right. Murphy's game is all about the hugging the touchline and supplying the bullets whereas Gordon and Barnes cut inside and get shots away. Thats their natural games so playing others on the right is massively ineffectual, as proven this season.

I don't know why they would lie about which knee it is.

To keep those worshipping the Mitchell/Bunce axis sweet. Those of us who identified them both as shallow know nothing charlatans very early on in the piece iirc know a lot better obvs :cuppa:

It’s fairly common to sustain an injury in the other leg after recovery from an injury.

Do you have any peer reviewed empirical evidence for this claim young man? 🧐

Without wishing to stir the pot further, was Krafth fit at the beginning of the season or still recovering from his own knee injury?

Don't suppose Liverpool fancy giving Kelleher the final again this year? Even when Liverpool seem to have an off day, Alisson seems to keep them in games with world class saves. The Almiron still hurts from last season, last night he was ridiculous. Would be typical Newcastle if Liverpool finally have a poor game but that cunt wins them it.

I think they should have appealed Gordon's red.  I am getting a bit sick of the 'let's be nice' shit.  Let's be fucking winners.

I think that was just really a case of knowing it will never get overturned.

Where we need to really to cut out the be nice crap is lawyering up and going after the PL once the City cases are done with the related party shite they pulled.
