The Birmingham manager has said there was no malice from Miley re their lad getting injured btw. He's got a nasty gash below his knee apparently.

He did not fucking play better than Miley

I understand the urge to point out Longstaff has been made a scapegoat at times but I thought he stood out like a sore thumb in terms of quality on the ball in our reserve team last night.

He's capable of good, even very good games but this game was definitely not one of them. For me he tends to be a weakness more often than a strength in particular when he sits high in the box for very little return (needs too much time to shoot or pass) and blatantly doesn't have the speed to get back when there is a counter attack.

Miley didn't have a great game either, but was still better than Longstaff. Take into account his age (18 v. 27) and the fact that he's not had consistent game time since he recovered from injury and that tells you everything you need to know.

Also @Holden McGroin saying that Longstaff "set up the decisive goal." is hilarious. Longstaff's attempted pass/shot was blocked and Willock seized on it to score. You could say that Willock both set that goal up and scored it, so heavy was his involvement. If Longstaff's ball wasn't blocked it would have been picked up by one of the two defenders in front of Osula or the goal keeper. That said Longstaff did play a lovely through ball for Livramento where Livramento'a pass eventually resulted in Wilson's goal so he did have a key meaningful contribution there.

They all count. Just like a tap in goal is worth the same as a 30 yard screamer.

You could argue he made a good run and then did well to get the ball across.

Im not saying he is a good player. Now Murphy and Burn have been in great form he is the one that gets all the shit.

It reminds me of bloke a used to sit next to in East Stand when I had a season ticket.  Every time a cross came in and Given didn’t come for it he’d solely get out of his seat and berate Shay (even if he had no chance of coming for it). If Given pulled off a wonder save he’d just sit there sullen faced and wouldn’t even clap.

Is that for the league cup?

Everywhere Ive looked says KO time is yet to be announced, where have you found it?

Yeah don't think it's been announced yet - different fixture apps have different time. I use Fotmob and they've lobbed it in as 8pm. It'd be crazy if they went with that but assume it'll be a much more reasonable time.

If they can have a little wobble and Arsenal start to make up some ground on them, that might take their eye off the ball a bit for the cup final too.

Like if Arsenal could get within 3 or 4 points of them by cup final weekend, alarm bells would be ringing.

I don't want either of the fuckers to win it, but if they could put some pressure on, that would be nice. Funny things start to happen when your pips are getting squeezed.

Definitely did that for ‘82 because Ossie Ardilles was numero uno

Didn't England do something similar in 1982 except for the GKs, who kept the traditional 1, 13 & 22 and also Keegan who was given the 7 shirt as he was captain. Pretty certain the rest were all in alphabetic order.

Not so long back him and Spaniel wanted Howe done in.

Just noticed how open the FA Cup is this season now. City a clear favourite even though they're not the same but any of 5-6 teams could genuinely win it.

Hmm, strange pricing considering current form but I guess influenced heavily by recent seasons...

He was desperately trying to create a narrative around that, the cunt.

That's not right, Hope has always been vehemently pro-Howe. Couldn't speak for Charlotte whatserface cos I haven't listened to them in ages.

Oh I'm sure he wouldn't have outright asked for the sack, but there must have been plenty of 'articles' or tweets sneakily building a case for it while trying to look objective.

Nah if you pay attention to Hope, he is a massive fan of Eddie Howe. You can make stuff up if you like, and imagine that he did this stuff cos you don't like him, but the bloke has never tried to build a case for Howe to be sacked.

He secretly delights in Nufc's misfortunes while masquerading as a sympathizer, that's all I know.
