Wilson expected to be out for longer, and Isak's stalled contract talks have Arsenal on "red alert" according to Hope.

So that's nice.

Okay, you cannot put Wilson on Mitchell, except the fact we didn't get a replacement in the summer but the cunt has played an absolute blinder since he got here and the potential hits, just keep coming.

I'm not putting Isak on Mitchell either. The lad might not want to stay here, or the wage budget might not currently support what he wants.

Every decent player stalls their contract talks at some point though. Happened with Bruno, happened with Gordon, happened with Joelinton.

Isak has been poor this season in whatever metric you want to apportion it by. You really need to have competition and options in all positions especially ones where players can be out of form.

Howe confirms Wilson will miss at least the next 3 games. "He felt a tightness in his body" apparently - too much time hanging around with / out the back of Yorkshire folk.

Aye ok

Isak is contracted to 2028, why would you want to renew him just now ?? A "new" five year deal gets you one more year to 2029.

Not stalled, just not started would be my guess.

Happens every week when there’s Thursday night European football.

It'll be to extend it by the one year and put him on whatever Bruno and Gordon are earning (which I assume is probably more now they've extended).

Am sort of more coming from the angle that there are 4 games in the same city so 8 sets of supporters out and about, all bar one kicking off at the same time, including supporters of two of the biggest teams on the planet…

But why pay him more now, do it next year if you want to, you've got 3 years left. If (big if given it's Hope reporting) he's making CL noises now he's likely going to be making them next year even if you pay him. There's plenty time.

Bruno and AG were down to 2 years but based on their interviews/comments they were committed to the club.

To keep him sweet with a promise that we'll sell him in the summer if we fail to get Europe. It also ensures we get maximum profit should we agree to sell him.

The longer we leave it the more he depreciates in value and I am willing to bet we're not planning on selling a top class striker to Arsenal unless its for game changing money.

You'd think there would be less tightness if that was the case.

He's just old and made of glass.

That’d be mental, here have some more cash but if you want away after the season that’s ok.

He’ll only depreciate if he continues to play like shit.

Botman is set to recover quicker from serious knee surgery than it takes Wilson to recover from a hamstring strain.

Wilson reminds me of  Daniel Sturridge.

He came to Perth and got injured in the first game he played. Hardly played again. Only in his early 30s. 🙁

I'll be happy if Wilson is fit by January so there's at least a small chance he can be sold to someone in the market for some magic beans.
