The OPPOSITE one to the one he injured previously, IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT EH?! It’s not that I don’t believe what the club or Howe says. It’s that I don’t have the medical knowledge that can get me from “almost ready for the next game, not quite there” to “he’s got fluid on the knee, he needs an op and is out for 8 weeks” Is it a chronic condition? Had the issue been ongoing, was it being managed thoughtout his recuperation from his ACL, if it was that bad why was he almost in contention for a place on the bench v Fulham etc etc?….… anyway, I’ll leave you to your latest book “Lee Harvey Oswald definitely killed JFK by acting alone, the FBI are stand up guys”

Bit of training and it flares up and, actually this might not be what we first thought it was. I don't have a problem with believing that.

wykikitoon 22772 Posted Friday at 10:33 Author Share Posted Friday at 10:33 Gemmill do you think him playing two 90 minute games in 3 days is fine for someone who's just had an ACL? Do you think adding a further 90 minutes to that again in another 6 days is fine? Even if it is the other knee, like Alex said the body compensates after a big injury. Playing that amount of minutes after such a big injury was totally reckless by the club. Who the fuck is advising Howe on this?

NJS 4560 Posted Friday at 10:37 Share Posted Friday at 10:37 (edited) The original report said he'd taken a knock on his knee so if true that would have nowt to do with an early/over-strenuous return. Edited Friday at 10:38 by NJS

According to a pal who is a knee surgeon and has worked on some Prem footballers, I.e he knows his shit. Fluid on the knee is 95% usually a pulled ligament or cartilage. I was concerned at the time that it was a lot to ask after that long out, but it's also not like he came back from injury and was immediately thrown back in. His rehab took a LONG time. And there was training and building back fitness, and they track all sorts of metrics on these lads, so they'll have had enough to say that he was ready. If his original injury had recurred, I think you can reasonably point the finger at the club and say it's been mismanaged. Something else going wrong could genuinely just be unfortunate. It doesn't have to be someone's fault.

He's just been incredibly unlucky.

But playing against someone who really DGAF about smashing into you to light drills on the training pitch isn't comparable.

David Kelly 1334 Posted Friday at 11:41 Share Posted Friday at 11:41 Apparently it's from a knock he took against Spurs which they didn't think was anything at the time. What I do know is that my mates son was in hospital the other week after doing his acl and the nurse there told them that Botman was in getting a scan that day and had been coming in every other day for them. They all thought it was just precautionary at the time.

No you predicted that the club’s communications on this matter were of no real concern and this time for a change you guessed correctly. Me and Wykiki asked relevant questions and it was talked through between us and we came to the same conclusion that you did after you stated that you worked in a bank and how the fuck should you know anything, which is a conclusion many of us had reached some time ago
