He was on the (now unsurprisingly nonexistent) UFO desk at the MoD. He never reveals anything of interest from that time because nothing of interest occurred. He also made a lot of bullshit claims about the Rendlesham Forest Incident from well before his time at the MoD which a fella called Ian Ridpath debunked.

thebrokendoll 10280
my mate was in the west corner of the leazes against forest last weekend. reckons he was sat next to a bloke who plays golf at tynemouth with the longstaffs. reckons sean told him that none of newcastle's defenders rate pope at all, they all think hes shite. make of that what you will, my mate mick's not a big fibber, can't vouch for the bloke he was sat next to though. I cannot buy into that story. Not questioning your mate being told it. I am questioning the golf bloke. Why would it be 'the defenders' surely it would be Burn or Tino. No way do all the defenders have a joint thought process on Pope that would be any different to what the rest of the squad would think. I also imagine that Pope's lack of ability with his feet is more annoying for the midfield than the defence.

Must be annoying for a defender giving the ball back to your keeper thinking there's a bit of a breather, then 5 seconds later having to defend a throw-in 30 yards from your byline. 3

Optimistic Nut 480
Well not a breather but you've sprinted back with a striker 30 yards to chase a ball over the top, knock it back to Popey, next think the ball's slicing over your head and for a throw-in and you're defending again.

Optimistic Nut 480 Posted yesterday at 05:55 Share Posted yesterday at 05:55 Perfect example of it last night. We had a free-kick in the LB area, for some inexplicable reason we go back to Pope, next thing you know it's a West Ham throw-in inside our half just in front of Trippier.
