Your lot would be the lesser of the PL evils but fuck off, never forgive you for stealing Distin from us or the dross you've sold us over the years.
Plus why would Saudis want to help one of the gulf states they literally want to get the better of, makes no sense.

there has been some youth movement between city and united so there's no animosity. i suspect they know that we're circumstance allies in the premier league.

i thought we signed Distin from PSG. In fairness you have made good use of one of our academy products in Kieran Trippier

But i must apologize for Joey Barton. He left us for you as he wanted to win trophies. Terrible timing Joey lol.. Poor sap was on the pitch when we beat QPR 3-2 to win the PL too. shame.

I was at the Etihad the night Barton had a blinder v us when you smashed us 3-0 I think,, Souness was sacked the next day, so every cloud.

Joey kept us in the PL. If not for him the Sheikh may have gone elsewhere (or bought us for less). I'll be kind and say he had a spark.

We had Distin on loan from PSG the season prior, with an option to buy and if I remember correctly your lot stepped in at the 11th hour. Think KK might have even been your manager at the time.

As for Joey Barton, sure, that should add another 50-70M to Bruno's price, just to help cover our therapy costs for that fucking wank stain.

we had therapy costs of our own. pretty sure Barton stubbed a cigar out in a City youth players eye. so i doubt we fought to keep him from going to you.  just your average scouser

Pretty sure we knocked back the chance to sign him permanently because Bobby had a hard on for Bramble. He was wanting similar wage to Robert. Would have been a beautiful partner for Woodgate.

Bobby possibly thought he was Carl Cort.

Howard Wilkinson:

"Shola had about six Christian names, most of them, to me, unpronounceable and in an attempt to put him at his ease on his debut performance, I called the lad over and asked him what Bobby called him when he was at the club."

Shola

''Carl Cort, mostly''.

He’ll bag a few more than he managed last season if he continues in the more advanced midfield role

No doubt he kept his head down, and tried not to draw any attention to himself then.

Anyway back to Bruno being linked to City.

If Pep wants him then i'd pay over the odds right now. We desperately need legs in midfield. He can cover Rodri's 6 this season, then replace Gundogan's 8 next season.

Not sure you'd sell mind you. And i wouldn't blame him for staying put.

some blues have been calling for his head. i notice that none of them have been on bluemoon for more than a few years mind you.  For me the worry would be that Pep thinks he can;t arrest the slide and walks thinking he's doing us a favour. He is a man of principle so its possible. I wouldn't call for his head even if we slip into the bottom 3. limp into the summer and spend 300-400m. we have that leeway in psr according to many. and i'm happy to dream its true.

And a man of no small amount of ego.

He's going nowhere man. You'll sign someone in the window, or maybe a few, and you'll end up challenging for 2nd spot at the very least.

wish i had your confidence. very difficult to make worthwhile signings in january and if enough players are coming back from injury they may decide to wait until summer. it's not as if this lot haven't proved themselves before.

i agree he has plenty of ego but to be fair to him he's earned it.  plenty of managers and players with huge ego's that are undeserving.

hmmm is a big ego a prerequisite for being a manager?

It's difficult, but you've got a huge, huge pull. Pep, Loads of quality teammates, tonnes of cash and all that jazz. You'll not be hampered by PSR either.

It absolutely is prerequisite. You can't be a good manager if you don't think you are.

I did think of his confidence when I posted it, but thinking your good is a prerequisite of being good. Thinking you're good doesn't make you good.

Otherwise I'd be a good person.

Bruno is definitely not the midfielder for you if you want legs. How about Longstaff?
