Ben White has left the England squad and returned home for ‘personal reasons’.

Not expected to return and the FA are requesting the player’s privacy is respected.

Some purveyors of both codes of rugby still call them football

What is termed football in this country was widely called soccer up until the early 80s iirc :cuppa:

It was all football until some posh twat picked up the ball and ran with it. We shouldn’t pay any attention to what they call it, they’re probably Chelsea fans

Scored in the final, didn’t he? Seem to remember something about Maradona and Passarella hating each other so Brown played ahead of the latter in the matches in ‘86.

Anyway, Australia through

Can't believe this.  Individually, probably the worst squad they have had and the worst manager ever, but collectively have managed to do enough to rattle other, better teams.  Argentina, who look a bit flaky, should be interesting.

Souttar has been outstanding with only 4 games since he did his ACL.  He plays for Stoke.

Amazing, especially with the difference of the weather.

I think officially he was 33 and had been ill but I reckon you’re right…. Not sure Maradonna would want his former skipper around :D

Whilst the Saudi goal made it academic, Poland would have gone through at the expense of Mexico on the basis of fewer yellow cards, what a pile of shite.

Surely they could use something that rewards the most attacking team (not xG) in the game between the 2, like shots on target or corners or something, but yellow cards FFS.
