World Cup 2022

I noticed there is no specific coverage of the opening ceremony. All BBC states is 'live coverage of the first match of the World Cup'. Pretty certain it's the first time they've not made a fuss of the opening ceremony.

Stoning of women not deemed family viewing on a Sunday afternoon for some reason 🤷🏼‍♂️

I was in the pub last night and someone asked me to name three Qatar Players.

So, I said. George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.

That was originally on twitter and after some consideration I thought better than to inflict it on Robin Robin and cause him to consult his gif almanac

Praying England get to at least the semis and the absolute fewm when the usual bandwagon jumping wankers DEMAND tickets and flights be made available to them, the colossal tossweasels :cuppa:

I like some of his writing but aye the way he goes on about the ownership structure of Newcastle you'd think he'd not be seen in Qatar in a million years.

They're all the same man. They like to present themselves as geopolitical experts but come the end of the day they're just footie journos and they'll chase that bouncing ball no matter what when it suits them

I liked Inverting The Pyramid and he’s a good writer on cricket too. He comes across as one of the dullest people going however. And he has that trademark bitterness in regard to us. Also, he appeared on Only Connect with some colleagues from The Nightwatchman. His crestfallen expression at the end was an absolute picture as they lost without him providing a single correct answer

Aye he is as dull as fuck like, which isn't always a bad thing for a mackem as he could have gone down the exotic route of seat shitting or entertaining children behind Chinese takeaways.

I quite enjoyed "Beyond the Iron Curtain" & his Clough book. I read ITP and loved it first time but by the second draft had come out my enthusiasm for football had been Ashley'd to the extent I could barely feign an interest and it stayed on the shelf.

I think the dude who commissioned that opening ceremony  has got to ask himself some serious questions about laws regarding homosexuality in his country.

I'd be wearing a disguise for the rest of my stay if I was this bloke from the FSA. Standing in the middle of the fan festival saying "Of course we all know that the world cup should never have been given to Qatar."

Be great if this supporters programme was just a huge scam to make their migrant worker setup a bit more multi cultural. The England band taking the Qatari dollar and finding they have their passports AND their trumpets taken off them on arrival.

 Some footage of the former England band members while they’re on stadium clean up duty and come across the corporate suites
