But nevermind as it will all come crashing down now that we've sung his praises. Where's @Rayvin to declare him as the worst keeper of all time so he can keep up this run...  He is massively overrated like. Hooper-esque.
Holden McGroin 6849 Posted Friday at 12:38 Share Posted Friday at 12:38 Dubravka is not in the same league as Hooper.  i think the two worst goalkeepers I’ve ever seen play for us are Karelse and Mike Hooper.

Meenzer 15789 Posted Friday at 19:49 Share Posted Friday at 19:49 I've surely mentioned it before on here, but one of my most distinct memories of the Keegan era is being out on Gosforth High Street getting lunch from Greggs or the chippy or wherever and a street sweeper accosting us out of the blue and delightedly telling us "He's dropped Hooper!". Can't even remember what match it would have been. Â

wykikitoon 21164 Posted yesterday at 10:05 Share Posted yesterday at 10:05 Just on Miggy. Apparently the offers for him are shit and Miggy wants to stay. Surely we will be at the same point in summer or worse, his value would have dropped further?
Gemmill 46729 Posted yesterday at 10:13 Share Posted yesterday at 10:13 If £5m is the asking price, and the offers aren't even meeting that, it's not worth having for the wages he's on. He might (MIGHT) come on and score an important goal between now and May.

He has a contract and as Downie said, he aint gonna be earning what he will be here over in the MLS. But if we aint getting the price now, we aint gonna get it in summer. So all this 'oooo we need to sell PSR blah blah' stuff. He will be on a canny wage. Will this dent our search for a replacement?
Dr Gloom 22341 Posted yesterday at 12:20 Share Posted yesterday at 12:20 I’m surprised a lower-end premier league club doesn’t fancy him at £5m. He could do a job for one of the promoted clubs.

Because if you can't just buy players to solve your problems, you instead have to coach and train them to be better. This means that any team with a very hands on, in the details coach - as with Howe - is in a stronger position than those that operate with chequebook managers. I would say his value to the club is far higher under PSR than it would have been otherwise (not that it wouldn't have been high anyway).
Chaser 1296
He is right though in suggesting that transfers are part of the entertainment of football. SSN drumming up transfer activity for deadline day over the last couple of windows which have then ended with the odd youth loan being the highlight is indicative of that. They won't like that it reduces their traffic to their web pages or viewing figures to their channels. As we saw last summer, it's absolutely not fit for purpose when you have to sell academy products just to meet a set of bullshit rules while other clubs sell their own assets to themselves. I'd like to see a balance somewhere between what we have and what we had.

Kid Dynamite 7251
Apparently we've agreed to sell Dubravka to a Saudi club but have asked if we can keep him for the next game first.  I can only imagine we are getting a few mil for him otherwise it makes no sense to sell him whilst he's our first choice fit keeper and is out of contract in 6 months anyway.
