Botman, Burn, Hall, Targett, Livramento is more than enough to cover the left hand side of defence. Signing someone for free and flipping him for £10-15 million is exactly the shit you have to do these days, I’m afraid.

Burn is 33, Livramento is our starting RB, Targett is the Wilson of full backs and is gone next year anyway.

Other than that, spot on.

He wasn’t free when you consider signing and agents fees, probably circa £6mill.

He also has something none of our CB’s have which is top class pace.

He’s young enough, he covers a few positions. We need a deeper squad.

Surely we can’t sell Miggy without a replacement lined up? (Being serious here)

Was wondering this actually, who would be the cover for Murphy?

Gordon/Barnes. Neither ideal as both prefer playing on the left.

Selling Miggy surely means we’re going to buy a new RW. Long overdue too tbh. That Cunha would be perfect but we don’t have the money to get him thanks to the PSR bullshit

He plays off the left though

Maybe we are further ahead in talks with a RW replacement than we are for a CB?

A big money move for Mbuemo/Semenyo, or maybe that RW from PSV we were linked with?

Ah, I might be wrong but I thought he was one of those Brazilian wonder kids who was happy playing anywhere across the front line

Would rather take a chance on Dibling from Southampton personally, Semenyo isn’t as good as he looks this season it’s a purple patch like Miggys was.

I don’t think Mbeumo is the kind of player we need either, and would probably cost more than we can spend at the moment.

We tried to her Elanga in the last window but I can’t see forest letting him go given the position they’re in. I think there’s better out there too

Good call on Dibling. Although I really like him I’m not sure Mbeumo has the intensity to play for Howe.

James Trafford for the RW is the replacement I heard

Setting aside positional nonense, he's undeniably a talented young keeper but there's surely no way Burnley sell him and risk unsettling their run at auto-promotion to the premier league. Still has a few years to run on his contract also.

The difference between receiving a bid for Miggy and a bid for Kelly is that we have been waiting for, and expecting, a bid for Miggy and hopefully have a plan in place for this month to quickly turn that cash over into a replacement.

To the extent where you could probably say that if we haven't got everything in place to do the above, someone hasn't been doing their job.

Hope says it's bye bye for Miggy. This is good news and good money. Even if we don't replace him, he basically offers nothing there anyway. You could move Tino up the line and put Trippier in at right back at a push.

Or Big Joe out right and Miley into MF (maybe) if Murphy crocked.
