We need a long term replacement for Schar, and Howe thinks that's Guehi. Guehi's price is coming down, with 18 months left on his contract, and the summer was probably Parrish's last big chance to take the piss on price - he did just that, but he went too far.

In a PSR world, I don't think they can afford to let him just run his contract down and go for nowt, so I think we'll be back at the table in Jan.

I'd say fuck Palace on principle alone. I recall Mitchell saying something like we need to be looking at Europe for better value so it'll be interesting to see if Howe or Mitchell prevail.

On the face of it I'd say replacing Schar was more of a summer project but I suppose if Guehi was highly coveted as a long term replacement then they might prioritise him. Personally I'd be looking to get more firepower upfront and threat down the right, if Isak gets injured again we're fucked.

It’s going to be very interesting if Palace are really caving in. The fee in the summer was far beyond reasonable but I can‘t see then stopping to behave like cunts even if it doesn’t make any sense business wise.

Unless we are stupid enough to bow to their demands.

Plus you would take Lascelles over Guehi?

No but I think we would be okay at the back till the summer.....whereas we're thin upfront if Isak and Gordon get injured.

At the moment I think it's too much of a risk for Palace to lose him. Relegation will cost them more than they can get for him now.

Until we get Wilson off the books we aren't signing a 4th striker. Especially when Gordon, Joelinton, Murphy, Barnes etc. can play at no.10 in a crisis

If Wilson had a good December and was fit through Jan, there'd be a temptation to cash in I reckon. Especially if we were cut adrift of CL by then.

Sort of falls apart midway through the sentence

Nobody is coming in for Wilson in Jan. They will wait until the end of the season.

IF he has a decent December the club will look at extending his contract by a year or so just to get a fee for him in summer.

If the club extends his contract again then I'm fucking protesting outside a sports direct, because that's just what we do.

I wouldn't be so sure. There will be clubs down the bottom half of the league looking for a proven PL striker to avoid relegation. The problem we would have is in replacing him.

Who knows, maybe new performance blokey has influenced Wilson's delayed return, maybe the fucker can now stay fit. He looked a real handful (and he's quick) when he came on.

I was trying to watch the game and work at the same time this morning (KO was 0700 here) but did he look a handful? To me he didn't add anything other than take up the space Isak might have occupied.

Now Antonio on the other hand, is two years older and was putting our defence to shame with his pace and constant harassing/bullying of our two CBs.

He looked rusty but is a handfull physically com[pared to Isak at times.

But Isak has never looked a physical player, quick feet and mind is his game. Although both those seem to be missing atm.

I thought his movement was great and he looked a handful, he got into good areas sadly the ball didn't join him there.

Yes that never helps a striker.

Another frustrating thing is how bad our final ball and set pieces are and have been for most of this season.
