Kid Dynamite 7182
I still can't get my head around the John Ruddy signing. Even if it was all agreed before the signing of the Notts keeper, we already have a crap 3rd choice keeper who never gets a game in Gillespie. Now we have two of them. Gillespies’s job is to work with the strikers/midfielders in training (as mentioned by Eddie in his post match interview in Aussie facing shot after shot after shot) and not complain about game time. He’s third choice for that reason, he’ll probably get little work with the GK coaches.

He’ll spend most of his time in the U23s acting as mentor and helping them prepare for the profession is my guess. Man Utd and Liverpool have done it for years - I thought that would be Ritchie and Dummetts role until they left.

Aye, I think Tom Huddlestone is technically a Man United player for this very reason.

Pope is number 1, Vlacho will likely be deputy, or maybe Ruddy. Gillespie is target practise and Ruddy is the old pro. Surely Dubravka is off?

Since he hoyed his toys out the pram when Pope was brought in he’s stank like an over ripe camembert forgotten in the boot of the car. Gemmill 46102
We need to get this done to save your face over the separate Marc Guehi thread, which I note you're too embarrassed to post this latest development in.

aimaad22 4222
The real question is, can Charlotte FC stump up the 20-25M that Saudi possibly could? You'd think they're trying for a sneaky loan deal or something like that which I don't see us agreeing to.
ewerk 31229
Aye, their current record signing is £6m, I doubt they’re about to smash that four times over.

Diego21 2138
Right now we are like this. In my opinion, the squad is closed for signings while we wait for us to sign a centre-back (Guehi). We must remember that Lascelles and Borman are injured and, although they recover 'soon', they have had very serious injuries that could keep them from being good for the whole season. I am counting on the departures of Lewis and Fraser. We also have Ashby, although I didn't put him in because there was no space. I think it is possible that Targett stays. I wouldn't mind if Hayden stayed. I think that as a starting midfielder, a specialist in destruction could be good to play some Cup games and give us a rest from time to time. Also, I am terrified that we will suffer the plague of injuries from last season again, so we would have to cover all the bases. I hope that Kuol goes on loan. I haven't been able to see the boy at all, but he must be far from his level yet. We need to sort out the goalkeeping issue, but I'm not worried about it (and there's Gillespie too, but I think his role will no longer be to be a regular in the team). I'd stick with Osula. I've hardly ever seen him, but we all know Wilson's problems with injuries (and Isak has had some in his later years too). If Almiron leaves, I think we should make a big outlay and bring in a very good player for the right wing. I don't know if we'll have the money, but it could make a difference if we play 'another' Gordon on the right wing. aimaad22 4222
Let's say our transfer plans fall to shite and we don't sign a RW. Do you think Eddie would try Gordon on the right? That of course enables Barnes to start on the LW. In any case I'm wondering how happy Barnes will be playing second fiddle if he stays fit this season. Interesting to see how we manage him this time around.
