Definitely seems to fit the bill for a third striker. I agree that it certainly suggests Wilson is staying.

OR

This lad goes on loan/stays as a third forward AND we get a target man type forward to replace Wilson and add something different to the attack :naughty:

Yeah we don't know how good he'll turn out to be, but I think it's fair to say that he appears to have the raw materials/attributes that could be further coached/nurtured by someone like Howe. What his ceiling is will only become apparent in time.

It has to be said as well, how many duff players has Mitchell helped identify in his career? Not many it would seem.

How much did he agree to give us for Sissoko?

TBF loads of our supporters were wanking themselves silly over the prospect of spending £30m on Eitike when he hadn't done much more than this kid at a similar age in a much inferior league.  Wilson is clearly staying, possibly forced by his current injury, so that means we need a third choice striker.  We aren't going to spend £40m on a third choice striker and a player of that calibre wouldn't come to play third choice.  Not being in Europe makes that even more certain.  So we have to be looking at a prospect.  Admittedly this lad's goal scoring hasn't been dynamite so far but he's been playing in an awful team at a very young age.  We (and apparently Liverpool who have also looked at him) must have seen something, we aren't in the business of signing shite for the sake of it anymore.  It's not a thrilling signing but clearly one we need and potentially a very promising one.

Kid's even got a "foreign" name, but because he's from Sheffield United and not Osasuna, there isn't the excitement. It's daft.

Mitchell had left by the time Sissoko was signed 😂👍 There was perhaps some overlap, but I've heard Sissoko being signed was the main reason Mitchell fell out with Levy 😉

Aye this is totally the case with a lot of our support.

If I had to guess, I would assume that some other cunt (Chelsea, Liverpool) comes in and gazumps us on personal terms/trophy prospects, but clearly there's ambition and the money to back it up.
