PaddockLad 18954
I’m pleased I went early on this blatant fuckin fraud. Are we sure he’s not a mackem? A unifying blame figure is always handy I find

The Fish 11313
It seems like people still think teams can buy and sell as they did pre-PSR. Also, they haven't remembered we've a stack of new (actually professional) people running the show. We're not going to spend willy nilly, we're not going to spunk a ton of money on a risky player purchase. The business done in this window thus far is measured and deliberate. Some of it I can't claim to understand, but I've confidence that it's not some kind of scattergun approach. Like, Ruddy, I'm sure he's unlikely to ever start in a competitive game, but he'll have been brought in on modest wages to provide an experience voice in the dressing room for the first and youth teams. I'd expect him to be moving into some kind of coaching role. Kelly is a top-half-of-the-PL standard utility defender, that we've signed for no fee. Pivas is a young lad with potential, probably on for the U21s, but it's in a position where we haven't much depth. Osula is a young lad with potential, who'll happily play second fiddle to Isak and probably Wilson. Again in a position where we haven't much depth to call on, even from the youth teams. Vlachodimos is an odd one. It's a lot of money for a 2nd choice 'keeper (at best). One who hasn't played a lot for his old club. It could be some kind of PSR fiddle. It could be some kind of thank you for signing Wood and Shelvey off us? I dunno. We've tried to sign some good centrebacks (Adarabioyo choosing to ply his trade in Chelsea's car park, and Guehi). I don't think we're done for the window in that position either. I also think we'll be trying to address the right hand side. Almiron is a decent squad player, but because of PSR we can't afford to buy an upgrade without getting shot of some of the Ashley era players. If early in the window we could have got some money for Fraser, Hayden, Almiron etc. I'm sure we'd have had a new RW already.
Holden McGroin 7533
I wonder if we are holding Fraser back until we play Southampton. I’d imagine he’d be a decent signing for them.

Whilst its great to get signings and exciting ones, building is going to be slow and lets trust the process.

And because of PSR we can't just compensate them for reduced wages either.

Kid Dynamite 7606
Transfer window warming up. Bournemouth ageeed a £40mil fee for Evanilson, who could potentially we a better player than Solanke, who they sold for £65mil. Our 3rd bid for Guehi has now formally been rejected apparently. Not sure why there was a delay but we still haven't walked away from the deal

I guess, playing devils advocate, they've said since day one they want £65mil. If we'd offered that on day one it probably would have been done . Who the fuck knows how long they've been haggling for as t'old Fabrizo hasn't been saying. This is a high profile transfer so will be getting a lot more attention. Alex 36667
Georginio Rutter sounds like the nickname of someone who plays in the Thursday night 5-a-side league at Eldon Leisure. Edited August 15, 2024 by Alex
Toonpack 11325
I suspect we’re in the midst of a you want £65mill, ok we’ll give you £40 mill up front, £15 mill next year and £10mill year after OR you can have £55mill up front and additional £5Mill in a years time sort of game.
Gemmill 49712
When you've taken a fortnight to get within £5m of their valuation, and that fortnight was the last two weeks before the season starts, I think there's a fairly strong argument for just going the extra 5 and getting the bloke in the squad for at least match week 2. Unless we are in very low-key advanced discussions on a cheaper alternative, that is.
