Still think it's utter madness that Villa took on Digne at the expense of Targett. I'm glad for us he has though.
Polarboy 2317
Targett, Ekitike and Botman for around 50m up front would be phenomenal business. The perfect window would be adding DCL and Sarr on top of that. Of course if our budget really is 90m, some were even saying 60m, we'd need to sell a few players that will actually bring some cash in. Almiron and Lascelles could perhaps generate 20m+ if Ashworth works his magic. Or at the very least those two along with the rest of the scraps of our current squad may add up to 30m. Our budget would need to be closer to 90m plus the player sales, even with staggered payments, to afford DCL and Sarr though I would imagine. We'd be missing a new keeper of course, but I think the attacking third is a more pressing concern. Oh and of course getting someone like Eriksen in on a free would be more than perfect. Chaser 1345
Glad to see Matty back, he got his arse handed to him against Spurs but then so did the rest of them. He is a solid signing and with Trips Manquillo and Krafth, we have a few options at full back. Need to get some other attacking options sorted for more goals. Monkeys Fist 44888
It’s just so refreshing to actually sign our first Targett.
Rayvin 5896
Just reading Villa's response to this - All of them universally believe Digne is a better player but some are sad to see him go. What is Digne meant to have done to be such a revelation for Villa, exactly?
Gemmill 49400
Listen. Stevie G propelled Villa from 16th alllllll the way up to 14th, and Digne played a huge part in that two place progression.
Polarboy 2317
Newcastle bid for Keane Lewis-Potter | thisisfutbol.com We're supposedly after some young winger off Hull. Of course the source is some supposedly in the know source that appears on a West Ham podcast, so large boulder of salt perhaps needed. He's had some decent stats these last two seasons. The step up from League One to the Championship wasn't too much for him by the looks of it. Chris Waugh has joined Edwards in saying that we're still hopeful of signing Botman. Isegrim 10287
If you click on the links on twitter and stop the torygraph loading before the pay wall appears you will be able to read the full article. You might have to refresh a couple of times and stop it again but it is working. Luke got told about it a couple of times when he has been complaining about people not subscribing to read his great pieces of work.

Andrew 5119
When you look at how good our first choice defence was in the second half of the season it is unbelievable how little money it took to do it. Dubravka was less than 5 million, Schar was 3, then weve added, Trippier for 12 million, Burn for 13 million and Targett for 15. Ridiculous value for one of the leagues best defences since it was put together.

That’s not just value, that’s Sports Direct value.
