Barcelona have sent the player a letter suggesting that there was criminality involved in the signing of his last contract and that that contract should be annulled and he should return to the terms of the original contract he signed when he joined from Ajax. The Dutch Players Union has suggested there is evidence of extortion in the way Barcelona are dealing with their players. It's high time UEFA stepped in and did something about a) their continued spending in the face of massive financial problems, and b) their treatment of their existing players. Silva has apparently been asking Citeh to sort a move away for him for a season or two, specifically to Spain. So unless Pep convinces him to stay for another season, or Barca have finally run out of their funny money, then Silva's potential move could really fuck up our bid for Paqueta. As for Rider's audio clip, if we're in for Maddison we should be interested in Paqueta, because neither are wingers by trade, they're number 10's. Maddison is on record as saying he doesn't like playing wide, but both can and have played wide in their careers.
