You could say the same about Murphy. But Murphy has always been this sort of player - capable of the occasional decent performance/run of form before going back to putting in stinkers. He’s a lot like Miggy - a squad player at best for a side who are targeting CL. Schar has been imperious since the takeover and his decline is a recent one. Ideally he will be benched when Botman comes back. Botman’s stop-start return from injury and Lascelles’s struggle to recover on schedule has fucked us. A new CB is needed but our failure to upgrade RW predates the takeover. We have Murphy, who should be a rotation option, starting games. It’s the squad’s obvious weak spot Wasn't it Botman and Burn in CB for a decent chunk of those games? Maybe that's why, because Schar was banned/injured for a spell

strawb 4633 Posted Thursday at 14:35 Share Posted Thursday at 14:35 People need to stop counting lascelles in the discussions in future squads, he’s fucking dog eggs. Would be one of the first out the place if I had my way. If ends up starting any games for us next season it’s a lack of planning. Don’t mind if he stays around for the vibes or whatever but deffo shouldn’t be actually playing for a team chasing Europe in 2025

It was Bruce that ruined him (along with many others) so I wasn't that surprised that he looked good again under Howe. It's scary that he's still our best aerial threat on set plays considering he's barely played since the takeover like - and Wood forgot he was a footballer during his time here.
strawb 4633 Posted Friday at 10:44 Share Posted Friday at 10:44 Nah, he’s looked alright at best. He wouldn’t get a game at any other club chasing Europe. We need to be more ruthless if we are to keep progressing.
wykikitoon 22684 Posted Friday at 11:23 Share Posted Friday at 11:23 Like strawb said he was alright. I know ACL reconstruction has come a long way, but he's the wrong side of 30. If he gets a contract extension its because he is good in the background and training ground. We don't want him near the starting 11 or bench unless its v Bromley and even then I think thats a big ask. But on the flip side to totally overhaul players like Lascelles out of the squad, will cost even more.
Holden McGroin 7514 Posted Friday at 11:45 Share Posted Friday at 11:45 I don’t think he’ll get a new contract. He used the option to extend it last season after he had the injury - which was a massive bit of luck for him.

Howmanheyman 36412 Posted Friday at 12:44 Share Posted Friday at 12:44 I'd be happy being good around the dressing room for half his salary if anyone from NUFC is reading this?

Lascelles is hard as fuck - he probably just took one look at his cabbaged ACL and threatened to wallop the cunt and it healed immediately and stronger than it was before.

You'd just piss everyone off interrogating them on who they’ve given their tickets to. ”Yes, yes, Bruno, I know she’s your wife and that’s all well and good, but was your lass in the away end at Shrewsbury in Sept 1982, I think not” Edited Friday at 13:53 by Toonpack

Howmanheyman 36412 Posted Friday at 16:20 Share Posted Friday at 16:20 I'd be the Terry Mac of the dressing room. The players would be too busy enjoying the crack to be dropping bollocks on the pitch.
