wykikitoon 22922
I'd like to hear from our resident 'keeper on this. @strawb Does Howe keep Pope for another season and work Trafford under him or does he keep Dubs?
strawb 4645
Honestly I didn’t expect this. So next year on contract we have pope, dubs and the Argonaut? The swindle, will probably leave. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ruddy stayed on as a training keeper. There are reports that Trafford is incoming (very happy with that btw, he will be future England no1). Maybe he gives pope, dubs and trafford a run at each other and see who comes out on top for starting? It’s not a bad thing to have more good players, if we can afford it.
RobinRobin 12501
Hopefully Trafford is a combination of Pope's shot saving and sweeping ability and Dubravka's foot skills.

Think Dubs or Pope are both a good number 2 keeper for next season but I think it'd hold us back massively if they're still 1 & 2.

Holden McGroin 7639
We’ve heard it’s a done deal for about 3 or 4 windows now. I doubt Hope knows.

I remember ducking into idols with a mate when Mick was on the mic taking the piss, introducing the 'topless totty' and getting unsuspecting fans on the stage to neck a pint of Lord Rupali's hottest curry, usually keeping an eye on any wandering away fans who were starting to show up in the 90s. Anyway, two Bolton fans are next to me and Mick grabs one of them after one of them is dazed by the dancer's tits and gets him to do the curry challenge. It's packed and everybody's in a good mood as we're drinking and about to watch KK's team do their stuff. The Bolton fan just looks on in wonder before shaking his head saying to anyone listening in his lancs accent, 'You don't get this in Bolton!!!' That Bolton fan is basically speaking for Trafford thirty years later but swapping Bolton for Burnley.
Optimistic Nut 485
Would remind me a bit of when we signed Shay Given if we get Trafford. Still loads of development to go but still good enough to be number 1.
Alex 36743
24 clean sheets now. Which is already a record equalling feat for a championship season, including 12 in a row now after last night

Aye we called it wykiki. Schar and Burn are great lads, but they're way the wrong side of 30 and we need proper athletes in those positions. Imagine what it would be like to have a centre back with pace ffs. Meanwhile RW is the least of our problems in comparison.

Holden McGroin 7639
To be fair I don’t think they’ve been done for pace. Burn is arguably our player of the season. Schars drop off has been worrying though, but that’s more highlighted as his passing has been absolute atrocious for a long time now. They’ve all been pretty shit lately though. You could argue a case for just about every position bar left back and striker.
wykikitoon 22922
We've flogged the shit out of Burn. But agree he's been immense. Schar has never been the same back from the injury, but not a surprise considering the age he is.

You could argue a case for just about every position bar left back and striker. They are slow and therefore they have to work harder to keep up in general play, they are also old (in football terms) so they tire quicker which makes them slower/more tired which leads to tired mistakes, bad positioning etc. That knocks on to the whole team because everyone has to work harder to compensate, has a lot to do with why "they've all been pretty shit lately" IMO. We need a pacey RCB desperately (as we have done for what feels like forever), because Botman isn't exactly rapid either (when fit).
Holden McGroin 7639
We obviously need a new beast of a CB. id say Trippier, Lascelles and Wilson are definitely gone in the summer so we’ll need full back cover (Kyle Walker Peters would do a job on both sides) and a new striker as a minimum. Hopefully Trafford comes in at GK as well.
Gemmill 50033
Pace is huge. I get the point that our recent lapses haven't necessarily been directly related to pace, but some of the trouble we have would just never arise if we had pace at the heart of the defence. Anyway, Howe clearly knows this given what happened last summer. I think we'll fix it during Mitch's Heatwave this summer.
