£15m for targett given how little he has featured is great business. more or less what we paid for him, isn't it? plus he's a couple of years older.

£12m, the rumoured free for longstaff to everton, seems undervalued for a english player with solid PL and CL experience coming into his prime yers, albeit one with a low technical ceiling. id be looking for £15-20m for him, though i can understand why they would be tempted to sell given it's pure profit.

miggy, longstaff and targett are three squad players we probably ought to shift. however, they are three bodies that could prove useful sub/rotation options in the run in if we get injuries. it could all be paper talk but if all three go, surely there's at least one body coming in? we're well covered at left back with hall, tino and potentially burn and kelly capable of filling in there. but RW is looking very weak. and we would only have two reserve options for the three CM places were longstaff to leave.

Only longstaff provides decent rotation options these days though.

Targett and Miggy have barely featured and are the obvious ones to bin off. Longstaff can still do a job despite how frustrating he can be at times. I’d not sell for less than £20m.

Eddie has still used all three players this season though. I agree they could all

be shifted given their limited minutes but who does Eddie bring on to give others a rest if they’re all sold in this window without being replaced?  Seems a very risky to sell all three this month if no one is coming in.

He's now down the pecking order behind young Miley though I reckon.

If we could get someone like Walker-Peters on a free in the summer we'll do well out of it. Was Southampton's best player by a mile against us I thought and can play both full-back positions. Good cover to have and keeps money in the pot for giving Isak a new deal etc.

I think, with the PSR predicament/still trying to slowly build a top class squad, the longer term risk of not being able to sell them down the line far outweighs the shorter term risk of them not being available for the rest of the season. I agree with argument for keeping Longstaff as he allows midfield rotation and a decent option off the bench. But with Targett, he can only really play in one position and there’s probably 4 players - Hall, Burn, Livramento and possibly Kelly who Howe would prefer there. Similar with Almiron and Murphy, Barnes, Joelinton and Gordon. I get what you’re saying though, selling 3 players who’ve featured this season might be pushing our luck.

yeah, I’m not against any of them leaving. I just hope they don’t all leave in January with zero players coming the other way as I think it puts Howe in impossible situation.

There will be players injured. Players will need a rest. Sometimes fresh legs are needed off the bench to see a game out, even if there’s a drop off in quality. It’s about bodies as much as it is about adding quality

I agree we need to keep cover until we get more bodies in, but after Almiron, Longstaff, Targett, Kelly and Trippier, Willock would be the next name on the list of players to be upgraded for me.

Id also happily move Barnes on to free up some cash and bring in a younger understudy to Gordon.

Jamie Miley signed for Hartlepool.

Well, I think that's the PSR problems all sorted.

"Get onto our PIF contact, let's get a few disruptor bids in for Wood at Forest, Mitoma at Brighton and Kluivert at Bournemouth."

"Should I add Garnacho at Man U or Rashford?"

"Hahahahaha, let's not give Ratcliffe any false hope!"

Is it still on the table? I'm completely oblivious and just assuming it won't happen given Duran is off.

Na, can't be. They are being linked with number 10's to spend the Duran money too so I don't think Watkins to Arsenal is happening unless it's for Isak money.

At his age, they probably should sell him for that sort of money. Especially if Arsenal come in with an improved bid today.

But it fucks their season, and there's no guarantees when you're trying to replace one striker, never mind two.

Lineker was saying they're after Joao Felix. Not sure about that move.
