James Trafford for the RW is the replacement I heard

Setting aside positional nonense, he's undeniably a talented young keeper but there's surely no way Burnley sell him and risk unsettling their run at auto-promotion to the premier league. Still has a few years to run on his contract also.

Surely we can’t sell Miggy without a replacement lined up? (Being serious here)

The difference between receiving a bid for Miggy and a bid for Kelly is that we have been waiting for, and expecting, a bid for Miggy and hopefully have a plan in place for this month to quickly turn that cash over into a replacement.

To the extent where you could probably say that if we haven't got everything in place to do the above, someone hasn't been doing their job.

Hope says it's bye bye for Miggy. This is good news and good money. Even if we don't replace him, he basically offers nothing there anyway. You could move Tino up the line and put Trippier in at right back at a push.

Or Big Joe out right and Miley into MF (maybe) if Murphy crocked.

😀

Of course he offers something.  He is very rusty at the moment but is good in the press and his build up play is fine. He is just a bad finisher. Livramento as RW won't work.

so you're not okay with us having five specialists CBs to cover two positions, but you're happy with a single specialist RW.

A single bang average RW who is currently in a purple patch.

tbf to murphy, and i've been his biggest critic, he has been playing out of his skin. if this is a purple patch, it's his longest yet. i think he's benefitting from a run of games in a confident team. his shirt to lose, but RW remains the weakest area of the squad. if we do sell miggy and fail to replace him, and murphy does his ACL, it's square pegs in round holes at RW for the run in

Im sure we can just play a random player out of position there and everything will be absolutely fine...

The Logic Lads are out in force again. Is it that some of you CAN'T think or you just DON'T?

i hate to break it to you, but your opinion of where the squad's vulnerabilities lie is

Player who we are desperate to sell and have been for 3 windows now vs player we have shown no inclination of wanting to sell before the bid came in yesterday.

The Logic Lads: ITS THE SAME FING!

I thought your argument was all about cover and not leaving us short?

We've got people that can fill in and offer just as much as Miggy on the RW. Clubs don't have RW INJURY CRISIS" headlines, do they? They do however have "DEFENSIVE INJURY CRISIS" because it's such a specialised position. There's a physical profile that has to be met, and the player needs to be drilled in that position.

Stick any cunt with one working leg on the wing and they can fill in for 2025 Miguel Almiron.

This is astonishing. I mean, we can play Joelinton CB if we need to.  He might not be very good but that doesn’t matter.

I understand your  hatred for his right foot and we all want to see him moved on but the squad will be weaker without him.

So would you like to keep him then?

I've made my argument, my position is clear. You're turning yourself inside out trying to make out that there's equivalence between the two situations, just to score a point.

We're fucking DESPERATE to sell Miggy. The bid is decent money, and it's from the MLS who have a different season to us so arguably this isn't repeatable in the summer if we wait.

I don't think we lose much at all if he goes, but if you want to argue that the contribution of 2025 Miguel Almiron is somehow something we can't live without, then fine.

I would MUCH prefer that we replaced him this window, and I do think that arguably someone at the club has dropped the ball if he goes and we don't replace him, cos this isn't a bolt out of the blue bid. But let's see what happens.

goals win games. murphy has been making and scoring goals in this run from RW.

tino is a great, high energy full back, but he often has a brain fart in the final third. i wouldn't want him to be isak's main supply line from the right. like it or not, RW is a specialist position just as much as CB - we've seen consistently this season that neither gordon nor barnes fancy playing on the right. you'd think they would be capable of doing a job there but both struggled to hit the levels they show in their natural position, that one assist from gordon for that isak header aside.

i doubt howe will be happy to lose miggy if he isn't replaced. it would cripple the depth in out frontline and potentially derail our champions league charge if murphy was to pick up an injury.

I’m just flabbergasted that you spent all yesterday suggesting we don’t sell our 5th (of about 7) choice CB  because we might be short then sell 1 of our 2 RWs. 😁

You’re then trying to back up the argument by saying he hasn’t played well recently (which is true) but this again could be used to beat Kelly with.

I guess we just see what Big Mitch does.
