tbf, we’re covered at LB with Hall, Tino and Targett and at LCB with Botman and Burn.

 

Lascelles coming back gives us three options at RCB with Schar and Kraft.

 

Defence is the area where we actually have decent depth, albeit RCB could be upgraded. 
 

If selling Kelly helps finance a move for a striker or RW, it’s a no brainer

I would hope this is us negotiating rather than refusing to sell. We've pleaded PSR poverty for 4 windows and are being offered 8 figures for a reserve CB. Take the money and invest it in a long term replacement for Schar

Botman is only just back from a long period out, there's no guarantees he can stay fit. Similarly Lascelles isn't even back yet from a long period out.

because he is arguably third choice in the two positions where he provides cover and we're restricted by the psr nonsense. doesn't it make sense if shifting him for a decent fee means we can buy a new RW or CF? we are two injuries away from starting Miggy at RW or Osula/Gordon at CF

Basically what I'm saying is rest assured, if this deal makes sense and the money can be put to use to improve the squad this window, I'm sure our manager and DoF will do their jobs and sell the player and reinvest. 

 

If it doesn't, they'll do their jobs and retain the player for what's left of the season. 

 

Demanding that they take the money now is fucking daft when you don't know which of the above scenarios is currently playing out behind the scenes.

Aye and what if a month from now we've got an injury crisis. Will all you clever cunts be going "well we never should have sold Kelly and not replaced him. What were they thinking of? Best chance of a trophy in my lifetime and we've blown it for £11m".
