If Wilson had a good December and was fit through Jan, there'd be a temptation to cash in I reckon. Especially if we were cut adrift of CL by then.

Sort of falls apart midway through the sentence

Nobody is coming in for Wilson in Jan. They will wait until the end of the season.

IF he has a decent December the club will look at extending his contract by a year or so just to get a fee for him in summer.

If the club extends his contract again then I'm fucking protesting outside a sports direct, because that's just what we do.

Who knows, maybe new performance blokey has influenced Wilson's delayed return, maybe the fucker can now stay fit. He looked a real handful (and he's quick) when he came on.

I wouldn't be so sure. There will be clubs down the bottom half of the league looking for a proven PL striker to avoid relegation. The problem we would have is in replacing him.

I was trying to watch the game and work at the same time this morning (KO was 0700 here) but did he look a handful? To me he didn't add anything other than take up the space Isak might have occupied.

Now Antonio on the other hand, is two years older and was putting our defence to shame with his pace and constant harassing/bullying of our two CBs.

He looked rusty but is a handfull physically com[pared to Isak at times.

But Isak has never looked a physical player, quick feet and mind is his game. Although both those seem to be missing atm.

I thought his movement was great and he looked a handful, he got into good areas sadly the ball didn't join him there.

Yes that never helps a striker.

Another frustrating thing is how bad our final ball and set pieces are and have been for most of this season.

Set piece delivery is atrocious, that said, even when the ball is delivered we just don't seem to attack it, if it's not pinged directly onto someone's head nothing happens.

Though similar about our defending of corners and set plays, our defenders don't attack the ball. Seems all teams we're facing do. It's like we play some form of zonal scheme.

Cash in with who? He's got 6 months left on his deal, has missed 60% of games since he signed for the club and he's 33 soon. No one is paying more than a nominal fee for him

I think the suggestion was that if he was playing well his contract would be extended to make him worth more than a nominal fee, but I agree that we won't get much for him even on that basis, in which case we are better off letting him run down his contract.  He may be like Viduka etc, in other words, when a contract is in the offing he seems to get and stay fit.

He would probably cost more in wages over 12months than any fee we could bring in for him. I'm struggling to understand how we are so tight with PSR with the shit loads of new sponsors, the big adidas deal, the stack, gigs at the ground, the mega sales of shirts etc.
