I dunno if he'll make it, in all likelihood he won't, so few actually do, but his time at Hearts was disrupted by a managerial change, as was his time at Vollendam. Who knows how much those changes stymied his progress? Who is writing him off? I always questioned whether he was good enough to make the move up in level. Unlike others, I have seen Kuol play lots and besides a bit of pace, especially in comparison to the slow A-League footballers, he doesn't have a lot to his game, nothing to justify the hype by "those in the know!" toonotl 2978
Alright! I will admit it since no one else is prepared to. I predicted that Sammy would be met with warm applause and universal adulation for his early prediction that a teenage prospect signed for peanuts wouldn't make it. I'm ashamed of the lot of you, honestly. Expected more. I guess those pesky "in the knows" already knew that a person frantically patting themselves on the back has all the congratulations they deserve.

LongTimeAdmirer 1256
Too early to call Kuol off, hes only 19. Ivan Toney and Watkins were playing league 2 football at age 22 for comparison

Guest MrRaspberryJam
Onana (the Everton one) off to Villa for £50m.
Kid Dynamite 7025
They've just sold Douglas Luiz for a similar price. I assume they can spread Onana's cost over 5 years and bank Luiz's in a oner. PSR is fucked

Gemmill 44853
Barkley was about £4.5m or something daft like that. A proper 90s throwback transfer fee.
wykikitoon 20129
Fair play to Villa tbh as they're doing some wise business. Yes, they have lost Luiz, but sounds like they're getting shut of Diaby too.
Kid Dynamite 7025
This is apparently Thiaw's replacement, with him coming to us
Polarboy 2311
Your man Bland who made the tweet about the players being bewildered by Mandy and Mehrdad leaving has said that a contract is agreed in principle for Thiaw. But given his other tweet I'm not sure how to take him. If these are our targets, as in Thiaw and Elanga, then I anticipate people being underwhelmed, but I honestly think they'd be very clever signings. Kid Dynamite 7025
Thiaw is a 22 year old RCB who plays for Germany and Milan. Sounds like a Botman type signing and likely Schar's long term successor. Not sure what's not to like. Elanga got 5 goals and 9 assists in a bang average Forest team least season. If we were signing him from a foreign team I reckon most fans would be more excited. He knows the league, is only 22, and knows how to play with Isak at international level.

Yeah I obviously agree with your assessment, but, and I know the internet isn't really reality, I've seen plenty turning their nose up at the mere mention of Elanga, and I'm sure there's plenty who'd rather we go for someone a bit more exciting than Thiaw such as Antonio Silva. As I said I'd be more than happy with both if it means we can spread the funds about a bit and get a decent forward as well. It would be insane to try for someone like a Bowen for example and basically blow our whole budget on one player. Bowen is a pretty extreme example, but you get what I mean. Even if we could spend what we wanted I'd still rather we largely tried to sign players just before they become internationally well known elite players.
