Pogba  I think Eddie would sooner start Ryan Fraser.

The Euros Swiss vs France game summed Pogba up for me. Scored a class goal then did about 37 different celebrations as if the whole thing was done and dusted, only to get absolutely twatted after that and drop out of the tournament.

All gone a bit quiet on the rumours front. Hopefully that's a good sign.

I think we were all in agreement that our squad isn't strong enough to compete in 4 competitions next season. It's slightly disconcerting that we are talking about £20mil bids for a young RB when we already have 4 of them in the squad and we have more pressing areas on the pitch to strengthen (CB cover, CF cover, LB, RW).

I'll trust the process though! Still plenty of time left in the window

Going to be interesting to see what the club has planned but aye if we dont cover those position we're asking for trouble. Other top 4 contenders strengthening and spending big, not going to be an easy season.

Liverpool are supposedly getting closer to sorting a deal for Thuram. Will they be less likely to go after Szoboszlai if they spend another 30, 40m on another midfielder? I know their midfield was a problem area, but surely they have other concerns for their squad, and they do have young players like Bajcetic, Jones and Elliot coming through.

Arsenal are going for the 10/10 window at the moment. Doing some really good business.

Havertz might prove me wrong if Arteta is going to use him more in midfield, as opposed to an out and out striker like at Chelsea, but that's a hell of a lot of money for him considering his goal involvement record since coming to the PL.

My guess is Arteta will get a decent tune out of him as he seems to have done well with the likes of Odegaard, Zinchenko and Holding. Havertz looked really good when he first came over, then just got worse.

CM is the least of our worries imo

Tonali

Bruno

Joelinton

Longstaff

Willock

Anderson

to cover 3 positions

And they're all naturally 8's, with Bruno and Tonali complete enough to do a very good job sitting in front of a defence. So it all just depends on whether Howe wants a specialist 6. Ideally for the versatility of your squad you'd want one, but for this window Howe may believe we have more pressing concerns.

They took the cunt out of Chelsea but I doubt they will able to take the cunt out of the boy.

Agreed, always happy for us to sign good players if the opportunity arises but we have more pressing positions.

First team right winger

First team left back

Right sided centre back to eventually replace Schar

Tifo did us on their "Sensible transfers" show the other day which is usually a good watch but for some reason they suggested replacing Schar with some guy from Southampton who can't pass.

I think we also need another striker. Moment Wilson or Isak get an injury we're left with one striker to cover a silly number of games.

Same positions but different order or priority (if yours wasn't in any order then I wholeheartedly apologise).

I'd say if we can get a significant upgrade on Burn then that has to be the priority. I'd love Theo Hernandez, but it's unlikely.

Then I'd like a right sided centre back. Schar and Botman are great, but the drop is quality is steep. Lascelles going to West Ham (if it happens) would free up a small amount of wages and wouldn't likely command a large fee. Burn is fine as cover, better than Lascelles, but I'd prefer someone better to step into that role. Has to have passing range, in addition to normal defensive qualities. How many chances did Schar create with his quality on the ball? Be handy to have more pace as well.

At right wing, unless we can get someone cheap like Guler I think we have enough quality to get by until a top tier talent becomes available to us.

@Diego21 or anyone else…. Pau Torres to Villa… is that a good bit of business?… the end of Tyrone Mears? 🤔

I don't like Pau Torres at all. It seems to me a very soft central. He is good with the ball at his feet to make first passes and come out with the ball played, but I think it will be very difficult for him to adapt to the level of the Premier League.
