I'd like this Ashby kid from West Ham (RB), I still think we're in for some more quality up at the business end of the pitch too.

Edson Alvarez has been mentioned and he's a good DM, but I'm not sure that's a priority area right now. When it's Bruno, Joelinton and Longstaff/Willock, there's plenty of disruption going on so I'm not sure we need a specialist DM right now. We definitely need a threat from the right hand side and personally think we could do with some more depth up front. Some young striker who'd be happy to pick up 10 minutes here and there, but who is an upgrade on Wood.

Chris Wood is quickly becoming my scapegoat. I understand why we signed him, and he's done the job we've asked of him, but he was a stop gap and we've now covered that gap.

Last 3 days of the window. We potentially need a winger, CM and back up RB

Expect to see agents going into overdrive linking players with us. Hopefully someone like Pedro, Harrison or Maddison comes off

Polarboy is going to be working double shifts.

which means we’ll have a marquee signing lined up. Edwards is getting as bad as Casey/Burnsie

exactly this. i think the best thing is to avoid this Edwards chap as he is less use than an ashtray on a speedboat.

I'll try my best not to step into an A-ha video in the process. This Ashby kid off West Ham has just followed Anderson and Trippier on social media. Coincidental timing to say the least given the rumours. Dendonker I haven't seen much of, but I do recall him being praised as a class player. You don't get into the Belgian national team if you aren't at least half decent. Longstaff for example isn't getting into it anytime soon if he finds out he has a Flemish granny. If we could get Dendonker for a decent price he'd be a more than adequate stop gap until we can sign Alvarez for example. Ajax never hold onto their top players for long. It's just a case of them losing too many already for one window. Whoever we get, and hopefully we still do get, in the attacking area is probably going to come out of the blue like Isak, or we'll agree a last minute deal for Pedro.

looking at howe's comments it does sound like it might be a loan or two to complete our window rather than spunking a load of cash on the likes of diaby or maddison. fair enough given we have spent more than 200m in the two windows since the takeover!

I think you should take what a manager says in the last week of a window with a pinch of salt, given it could easily all be part of a negotiation, but yeah given what we've spent already I'd be surprised if we spent over 15-20m on a player, and indeed whoever we get in will likely be a loan, loan to buy or something else close to that description. With the Chelsea players looking difficult if recent reports are to be believed, we don't appear to have many quality options left in the loan market.

90mins are alleging that we're in talks with Arsenal to loan Ainsley Maitland-Niles off them. He is a versatile player given he can player right back, right wing and centre mid, but you tend to think he's a jack of all trades master of none. Still he'd be a useful back up with Krafth out. Even if we are after him I'd imagine he'd rather join one of the bottom half teams where he was guaranteed more game time. Not much point in switching Arsenal's bench for ours, even if he'd likely get more minutes here.

Are we all writing off Manquillo as cover for Krafth then?  I know Krafth has improved a lot under Howe but for me at least he was way behind Manquillo prior to that.  I'm not so sure we need to bring anyone else in for that position.  I mean I've got absolutely no problem with bringing in this youngster from West Ham if he's a good prospect but I'd certainly still be focussing my attention futher up the pitch.

I'm not too convinced we'll sign anyone else though.  The remotely credible links have dried up in the last week since the Issak news broke, and while the fact that deal came out of nowhere offers some hope, there is very little time left now for someone to appear out of the blue.

If this is it for this window, I think we've made some excellent moves but I am slightly disapointed we've not addressed the midfield/wing situation.  Had we done that I think we could have potentially gave the top six a shot this season with the world cup and number of games before it potentially hindering the teams in Europe.

According to Sky Sports Leicester are in talks to sign an attacking midfielder called Amine Harit off Schalke. A replacement for Maddison? Maybe, then again maybe not.

Could we sign Harit?

Are they hoping Isak can play where Miggy plays?

Well I do think they've signed him as they think he gives us a potential option there.  At the price we've paid for him you have think they expect him to be one of our best players and we already have Wilson who is one of our best players so if they both only play as a striker then you could only play one of them at a time.  Obviously Wilson is injury prone but you'd still have large portions of the season where you'd have one of them on the bench.  So it makes perfect sense to look for a player who can play as a wide attacker.  I don't know whether Isak is that player as he doesn't appear to have been used in that way before but that would seem to be the option.

Maitland-Niles would make sense. I get the 'jack of all trades, master of none' comment but he's more than ample cover for Krafth whilst he's out. And I don't think this link is particularly a snub of Manquillo either, who is known to be injury prone. If Trippier and Manquillo both got injured and we didn't get cover in we'd be down to drafting the kids in.

If we got down to it, would Schar not be an adequate option for cover at fullback?  I mean I'm all for having three players to cover every position but when we still have starting eleven positions that aren't locked down I'd rather see that addressed first.

Looking at our current squad we have 30 senior players. Dubravka looks to be off and I doubt whether Shelvey, Krafth or Matty Longstaff will be registered for the first half of the season. I That still means at least two outgoings or unregistered players before we're able to bring anyone else in.
