Morelos has far better goal return than Wood, add in the fact he's scored in Europe and not just a couple of qualifiers. Has just as good of scoring rate as Dembele and Eduard. Different player to Wood mind, but would back him to cut in the PL. Porto/Sevilla where after him not long ago.

Yeah, Mitro would likely cost around that - would concede that. He wasn't exactly a total disaster when he was here was he? Would have been far better than likes of Muto, Joselu and Slimani we had under Rafa. Knows where the goal is, definatly flat track bully in the Champ - but you can say that about Fulham as a club. Came up under Jokanovic smashing everyone, but stunk out the PL, just as they did with Parker coming up and going down with a wimper, now they're on their third cycle. Both of those Fulham sides were piss poor in the PL, stick Mitro in a better PL side he'd score no doubt.

Brereton Diaz is a bit of a novelty with the Chile craic but he's been scoring in Championship this season. Contracts up in the summer - throw £10M plus a couple of clauses at Blackburn surely.

Can believe how wants a carthorse of a striker anyway, so Wood probably suits him to a tee. Had Kermogant season Bournemouth went up, and signed Glen Murray first window in the PL.

The Scottish league is shit and Morelos is a liability.

We just need to stay up. Wood was more than happy to join on a 2.5 year deal, he immediately walked in and helped us get 4 points from two games, regardless of how we can project others may have done better in those games we got the points.

Morelos isn’t good enough, anyone from the SPL is a risk, players like Boyd, and Miller scored by the hat full up there and we’re shite in the English leagues, similarly players who scored less than them came and did well, it’s a risk we aren’t in a position to take, the bloke is also a walking red card, and at 25 would see it as a good chance to get a nice 4 year deal.

Id have taken Mitro but as Fish said we don’t know how much he’d cost, that would mean negotiations, meanwhile Wood had a clause and we could immediately get him in.

He’s a complete short term move, they tried to bring in better afterwards and didn’t succeed but he’s better than nothing. If our team can create any fucking chances (which hopefully with the refreshed back line and improvement in CM we will) he will look better as well.

Lets just concentrate on the domestic goals, because I'm not sure banging 4 past St Joseph's FC from Gibraltar is the measure of a good striker. Morelos isn't standing out like a tremendous prospect or owt. He's playing for one of the two top teams in the Scottish league and he's getting doubles figures. Wood has played for one of the most agricultural teams in the Premier League and is getting double figures. I'm not saying the Antipodean Colossus is a top striker, but he's less of a gamble than Morelos.

Mitro could carry on his flat track-bully form into the Prem and score 9-10 goals in the second half of the season, or he could have been sent off on his return and fail to settle. Plus he'd cost 50% more than Wood did.

You're massively underestimating the cost of Brereton Diaz. West Ham were quoted £28.5m, we'd be quoted more. And there's no guarantee he's able to make the step up.

Wood is a proven, if uninspiring, Premier League striker. He's not a liability like Morelos and Mitro, either.

In short, no, you're wrong.

Daft from the lads that stayed. Doesn't make any sense.

Clark, I can kind of understand. He gets money for nothing and he's already towards the end of his career (32). But Lewis (24) makes no sense to me.

A) given our injuries at the back he should be in the squad instead of someone like Mark Gillespie (how many fucking 'keepers do we need?)

2) he was showing signs of improvement under Howe and is surely a better bet at LB than Ritchie?

iii) go out on loan and get your mojo back, or play for a move at least.

Particularly poor from Lewis. It’s a chance to impress the manager. Though I’m surprised he didn’t make the 25.

Clark can fuck off, lazy twat knows his days here are numbered and would rather sit on his arse picking up his pay cheque

All eyes on the Everton. Speaking of which, @wykikitoon get the match thread set up before someone gets some funny ideas and jinxes it.

Mitro hasn't been sent off since 2016, Morelos - well yeah... That's probably a factor in why clubs were put off him year or so ago.

Wasn't particularly intended to die on a Morelos shaped hill, he was just a name I thought off that could have been a realistic target for around £25M that knows where the goal is - could have been various other names if I spent more than a few seconds of thought.

Mitro was never likely to return anyway, so it's all rather a worthless conversation - but a straight choice of Wood or Mitrovic for £25M I think a lot of supporters would choose Mitro, and would see £25M spent a far better deal. I bet there a few clubs in the league that would snap Fulham's hand off if they had the money and offered the deal - would improve all the clubs in the bottom third, and would tie Brighton's toothless attack together.

£28.5M seems very steep on Brereton - hadn't seen that tbh - considering time of his deal, but clubs must have at least enquired about him and priced out I guess. Brave as Blackburn can't be flush with cash, but obviously hoping his goals this season can get them up to the PL.

Mitro wouldn't be £25m. He might be £25m for some teams, but for us? £35m, easily.

We wouldn't have signed Wood if Wilson was fit, or if we could have secured a better striker early into the window.

End of the day we've signed an experienced Premier League striker, rather than gamble on players who've not 'done it' in the top flight of the English pyramid.

Thought their toothy Prime Minister professed to have eliminating Covid from all of New Zealand months ago...

Would rather sacrifice Joe back up front than ASM or god forbid Dwight Gayle. Maybe Joe wouldn't be quite as horrendous up there now his stint in midfield has rebooted the footballer in him. Not ideal, but Bruno more than adequate replacement in the middle.

You do realise a lot of their players are from overseas and have to travel by air to get to their matches.  I.e they're not all in Hobbit land (sorry Andrew)

Seen Waugh and Culkin say we're likely to go back in for Etikite, and of course Botman has hinted he'd like to come in the summer. Maybe It would be one or the other between Nunez and Etikite, but maybe not. Etikite, Nunez and Botman would be a very nice start to the summer transfer window. Of course there's the small matter of staying in the league for any of this to be feasible 😓

Honestly, don't mind the hobbit jokes, we've had a practically normal life here since about June 2020, we're doing alright.

Apparently Merson just said Arsenal had a better window than Newcastle, despite them not signing any players and losing Aubameyang for free.

 I just don’t understand the point in having him on. His opinions are so bad they don’t even get people wound up enough to respond in the way people like Simon Jordan do, it’s just utter drivel.

Etikite eh? Took a tour of our training facilities and was blown away.
