Great news @Dr Gloom, I've managed to secure you a ticket. Let's call it £120, a little extra for my effort? Wire me the money (with all your bank account details please) and I'll send it over. You're welcome. :)

I wouldn't be worried about getting the ticket, more about being denied access at the ground.

how would that work then? Are season ticket holders not allowed to transfer/sell on tickets anymore unless they go through the official resale?

I don't know cos I don't know how the whole thing works, but if you're having to scan NFC codes to get into the ground and stuff, then even that's more of an obstacle than just waving a bit of paper at someone.

The Professor will know whether this is a concern or not.

So ST holders got first dibs but had to buy all 3 tickets before we had dates or knew the opponents. We can pass them on to nominated friends and family although the club charges for this (unlike league matches). We have an adult and child ticket we share as a family, but its in my wife's name. I've had difficulties twice with the NFC trying to gain entry. They've let me in manually on the basis my surname matches but its been a hassle. I would be very nervous getting a ticket from a random.

shit, ok. thanks for the heads up.

would the same issue potentially occur for league games too?

If you're the nominated person your name is on the e-ticket and that should be fine, even if NFC fails (which it seems to a fair bit). But that requires you sharing your membership information, and also there are limits on how many connections you can have I think, so I just don't understand how these ticketing sites operate? Bottom line is I don't know, but my fear would be you don't have much comeback if things fuck up because you're going against T&Cs and the club won't care. I guess it depends whether you're willing to take the risk of not only losing your money, but also a wasted trip and stuck outside at k.o. Anyway, obviously @thebrokendoll is your man.

email from the club this morning......

Dear Member,

We are contacting you with an update regarding your ticket ballot application for Newcastle United v Arsenal.

We wanted to make you aware that an unfortunately an incorrect price was listed for this game, which was at a lower price than our 2023/24 single match ticket prices listed for previous games this season. Despite this error, any member that is successful in this ballot, which will be drawn in due course, will have the incorrect price honoured.

Ticket pricing will be rectified for all future ballots.

The ballot for Newcastle United v Arsenal will be drawn on Thursday 19 October, with successful applicants notified by 5pm on the same day.

Thank you for your support

i thought it was odd when i entered the ballot that the tickets were £43, cheaper than both burnley and brentford, considerably cheaper than liverpool.

can see one of two things happening here, somebody's in for a helluva arse kicking, or not one person will be successful in the ballot and there'll be a fucking shed load go up for resale at the price they meant to charge in the first place.

they're really not very good at this!

Dortmund ticket update: I know you’re all on tenterhooks

After an afternoon at work sporadically refreshing the resale site, a ticket popped up. My heart leapt. Alas I wasn’t quick enough. By the time I clicked through some other cunt beat me to it.

Meanwhile, I I found a ticket on a tout site for a relative bargain £180

In other news, the cheapest return train ticket from London is now up to £130.

So as things stand I’m looking at £300 before booze and accommodation.

I remember when Keegan walked under Ashley. Anyway I was working in Belfast and then was travelling home and had my phone in flight mode. When I checked it I had  a text off my mate about how Wise had been sacked and Keegan was reinstated with a transfer war chest etc. Then at the end it was Carlsberg don’t do text messages…

I was fucking seething  the stupid fucking cunt. It was still raw as it was only about two days after the event.

We’re still mates btw

been fuck all showing up the last few days apart from that one a couple of times, there's never actually a seat there though!

hang on in there mate, they will start appearing even if not in prolific numbers.

personally rather take the chance on that than fork the best part of £200.

do they ever crop up outside of office hours? or does some nufc employee have to process the resale during the day?

i don't understand why someone would shift their ticket that way, and end up paying the club for the privilege, when they can treble what they shelled out in the first place by selling it on a tout site

aye, they do.

think the threat of punishments to the average supporter selling their ticket to third party sellers would be enough to put most off.

I don't tend to look on those sites much, I did however look on one a few weeks ago for the away game at psg, there was tickets on there at the time for the home game too, that was pre them even going on ballot/sale to members. I'd guess most are finding their way there via corporates and their guests, but I don't know that obviously.

you'd assume the club might be less inclined to pursue where these tickets are coming from if it potentially involved folk who are shelling out shitloads of thousands for a box each season?
