He was levels above when he joined like, stood out a mile in our back 4.  But does feel a good time to move him on.  Definitely dont see the point in a loan though.

I'm pleased for Tino too. At times last season, he looked tremendous. Time to invest in him now.

Thing is the presence of Trippier would have helped develop him further.

he’ll get a great reception whenever he comes back. He was a transformative signing and helped pave the way for Bruno and Isak. A model pro. Shame he couldn’t keep his snake in its cage or he might have seen out his career for us. Good luck to him, indeed

Who the fuck keeps a snake in a cage? Surely you want a solid box? You know nothing!

I’d assume it’s his missus forcing this.

quite likely, as he has been a bit naughty! Think it is time now for Tino to shine. Tripps would be second choice from now on anyway.

'Trippier was told by Howe last week he would not be starting season opener & Bruno was new captain'

probably someone needs to explain to eddie there's more tactful ways of going about wanting to keep a player.

It's odd for Howe to decide to announce that he's not a starter anymore and strip him of the captaincy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's pissed off at what happened last season where off-field shit of Trippier's own making led to a significant drop off in his on field performances.

Not exactly the example you want your captain to set to the rest of the squad. I can also understand Trippier deciding to leave under those circumstances though.

Seems like Trips has made it his intention to leave for personal reasons and Howe has agreed to let him go and is planning without him.

It’ll be a shame to see him go- he was the first “name” player to come in for us after Ashley, and did a sterling job as captain on and off the pitch.

Best of luck to him

Absolutely. Real shame it's ending like this for him here, whatever went on his personal life clearly had a massive impact, hope it all works out for him in the end. Proper class act.

Spot on.

He started it all on the pitch for us after the FCB.

I also wish him all the best.

If he does move to Everton, the average age of their fullbacks would be 29, with 3 of their 5 fullbacks being over 30yrs old.
