I think we need to hope 33 points is enough.

I honestly think if Everton beat Burnley on Wednesday, and we get a draw against Wolves there’s no chance of us going down. That would mean Burnley would need 4 wins out of 9 games just to be on 1 point more than us.

I’m personally pretty much certain it’s over anyway, but I’d have no doubt whatsoever if the above happened.

@Christmas Tree , do me a favour please.

Show me the run of results that Burnley, Watford, Everton and Leeds are going to put together, combined with the results we're going to get, that will put 3 out of the 4 of them ahead of us.

Just list their matches, the points they'll get, the points we'll get, and then show me how 3 of them finish above us.

Shouldn't take long.

Good tool that, Fishwad. CT, you've got no excuse, he's made it dead easy to do.

This is what I ended up with.

Which is absolutely lip-smacking.

Also, suggests 31 points is enough anyway, but I await the verdict of the Boldon jury.

If only I was an excel Wizard

All I’ve said for a few weeks is that it is going to be a lot closer than most of you are making out and that 3rd spot will not be sorted by end of April.

See post

Stats are wonderful but they simply don’t account for teams going on a run (as we have just done) or the quality of teams left to play.

Burnley have the most games available to play, the most easier teams to play and a reputation for getting out of trouble.

Burnley have Everton, Norwich, West Ham, Southampton & Watford amongst their fixtures in April.

Our April is far tougher.

Im pretty certain 3rd spot won’t be a forgone conclusion come 1st May.

I can honestly only see us picking up points against Norwich in April.

So we have the same bottom 3, both believe Burnley will escape, but you found 7 points for us and I’ve found 2

I might start to worry again if we were going into the final four games level with or close to Burnley and Everton on points. But we would need to lose our next four (highly unlikely) while Burnley and Everton would have to inexplicably start winning games. We probably only need to beat Norwich and we’re safe but we’re bound to pick up draws - and another win or two. I think we’ll end up on around 38-40 points, which should be plenty.

I've just noticed you've got Norwich picking up more points than us man. FUCK. OFF.

You tried your absolute best to send us down and even that wasn't good enough.

So you're gonna shut the fuck up now right? I'm a bit surprised not to see Burnley in Europe on yours tbh.

And as for shutting up  All I’ve said consistently is that it’s going to be a lot tighter come the end of April. It’s you and your Willy waving possy that are OTT

So where are your 8 points from?

I can't remember now. But while we're asking questions, WHERE THE FUCK. ARE 21 POINTS FROM 28 GAMES BURNLEY PICKING UP THEIR EXTRA 12 POINTS FROM IN YOUR VERSION?

Cos I know that between Newcastle getting 8 points and Burnley getting 12, which is more realistic based on FUCKING EVERYTHING WE KNOW.

 I didn’t include Norwich in my predictions. Those points are automatically generated ;)

I'll bite, seeing as I've given us 13 points.

Wolves (H) - 3
Leicester (H) - 1

Palace (H) - 3

Norwich (A) - 3
Liverpool (H) - 0
Man City (H) - 0
Arsenal (H) - 0
Burnley (A) - 3
