The more I think about that question about the human rights stuff, and the way the journalist followed it up saying "but life's not all about football is it?"

How many questions did Mancini and Guardiola have to answer about Qatari human rights issues at their first City press conferences?

I wonder how much this bloke has been paid filing gushing stories about Man City and its managers over the past 13 years, and how many zeroed in on human rights abuses. Same goes for the likes of Delaney and Holt.

I totally understand that there's a problem here, but either be consistent with the hand wringing, or fuck off.

'Lifes not all about football is it?"

He has a point but when you're in a press conference with a new manager of a football club then it pretty much is all about football isn't it?

His answer should've been...

"TRY TELLING FUCKING ADAM PEARSON THAT!"

Their owners aren't from Qatar so it would have been well off topic if they had been :)

Well if one of these cunts had written a story about it, I might be better informed.

Could also have asked the journalist what they were doing there.

This is the key isn't it. Special treatment for everything Newcastle, and we saw that with the Bruce sacking as well.

They can all bugger right off. We're in the best place we've been for years, despite being 5 points off safety   Brilliant seeing the energy brought in by Howe already. Get the whole place galvanized and reach January in a salvageable position, when we can piss off a few more people and clubs in the transfer market :finger:

Ooof, been saying a lot of 'us' and 'we' lately in the post takeover excitement. Remembered a really old argument on here from out of nowhere. Funny how the mind works.

It’s fucking mad that the text on the wall was very likely put there during Ashley’s ownership, the cheeky cunt .

The novelty of being able to talk about Ashley’s ownership in past tense isn’t wearing off at all neither. Thank fuck we’ve saw the back of that prick.

Pardew had an air of arrogance.  Howe does have confidence, but a grounded confidence if that makes sense.

Action speak louder than words.  His actions on the first day spoke volumes.  Arriving early, leaving late.  Bleep test, the lot.  Amazing.

I'm just clutching at potential problems because that's our lot in life.

I thought eddie howe delivered his speech with aplomb

but then I've come to expect that from folk who've spent a lot of time in bournemouth.

Aye, it’s great. Actually being able to take an interest in transfer gossip  too. For the first time in what seems like forever

 The voice of experience. I don’t think he’s anything like Pardew though. Pardew was more like Bruce, another part-timer without any discernible philosophy on how he wanted his teams to play.
