Tom 14011
I’m feeling positive like, just looking at the atmosphere at SJP & the way the crowd cheered our lads on and terrified Everton we can beat anyone at SJP.

Agreed, but we've all been in this game long enough to know we have a frustrating knack of shooting ourselves in the foot following an evening like that. The performance against Villa will be seriously defining for me - take to them in the same manner as we did against Everton and I think we truly are in a great place. BTW separate point - how amazing are mid-week league games? Always a better atmosphere IMO. Pisses me off they're rarer than rocking horse shit these days thanks to European or International football.

Saw a journalist tweet in the immediate aftermath of Lascelles own goal that the crowd's reaction was one of defiance, rather than resignation. It was like the crowd wasn't going to let something as silly as going behind ruin their evening. It was class to hear St James' rocking again. How long has it been since we played that well as a collective? The players, the crowd, United. 3

Polarboy 2311
If I'm remembering correctly a pundit was saying that Southampton at home in December 2019 was the last time we came from behind to win a game. It's a mind boggling stat and really frames how shite we were under Ashley and Bruce, but hopefully the lads are fully aware of it, and Eddie is drilling it home so they can take the maximum amount of confidence from the Everton result. Seeing Howe’s training methods finally bear fruit is great but just as important was their heads not dropping after conceding. If anything it galvanised them to play better and we went on to control the game for most of the second half.

Bruce has got off absolutely scott free. If ye had been a foreign manager he would have had a serious pounding from the so called experts

That said, fellow members of the Man Utd pension club were often his rallying support.
Polarboy 2311
I see West Ham fans and Simon Jordan are saying that Newcastle fans shouldn't comment on the Zouma thing because we are majority owned by the Saudi's 😂 Our moral authority forever tarnished because we didn't all in unison quit supporting the club because a decision was made that was completely out of our hands. Like I give a fuck 🙄

Like I give a fuck 🙄 What makes that even better is it’s an even worse form of whataboutism they all accused us of. The comparisons we made of them turning a blind eye to where their mobile phones etc come from is much better than comparing our “turning a blind eye to the evils of the house of Saud” to a bloke recording himself kicking his pet cat around. There’s a similar disconnect in the first comparison. Plus no one is fucking defending the Saudis we are all fucking clear on that, but when our choice is take the same approach we have to where everything else is sourced or completely remove our football club from our lives we shouldn’t be harangued for choosing the former. So now, that ends their discussion of NUFC? Edited February 10, 2022 by Howay

Craig 6682
Big debate this morning about Martinelli's red card from two yellows in the same passage of play in last night's game. Both were clear yellow card offences, I'm with Michael Oliver on this one.
