Emre 0
Newcastle United are reportedly ready to make an ambitious move for Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo. The Brazilian ace revealed earlier this week that he was unhappy with the La Liga giants and could leave them in the summer. The News of the World claims Newcastle have been alerted by Ronaldo's comments and are ready to rival the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan for the 30-year-old's signature. A huge stumbling block for the Toon would be the fact they are out of the race for a Champions League spot next season - and may even have to qualify for Europe via the Intertoto Cup. But Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd did pull off a huge coup in the summer by snapping up Michael Owen from Real Madrid - and has a good relationship with the Spanish giants. Although we have no manager ... think Freddy would want to try and pull this off? Edited February 27, 2006 by Emre
