Tests against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe count for fuck all tbh, one isn't even a test side anymore. The Rose Bowl is a bigger ground and is better located, the ECB have already said that the Rose Bowl will get higher profile tests in the future.

Do you have a source for those ECB comments? It's just it was reported on the news that the competition for the one Ashes test that is up for grabs is between Headingley and the Riverside.

The test venues have just been announced for for 2007-09, can't see the Rose Bowl anywhere:

vs West Indies - Chester-le-Street, Headingley, Lord's, Old Trafford

vs India - Brit Oval, Lord's, Trent Bridge

 

 

2008

vs New Zealand - Lord's, Old Trafford and Trent Bridge

vs South Africa - Brit Oval, Edgbaston, Headingley, Lord's

 

 

2009

vs Zimbabwe - Lord's, TBC
